Many gamers just follow the crowd. This is the honest truth.
Simcity 5 was a good game that the developers made bad choices on. At launch, the regional maps were there to promote multi-player. What actually happened is that you would start a region with a group of folks and many did not return to their cities thus locking you out of some resources. They eventually changed that gameplay element, but by the time they did the damage was done in the eyes of the player base.
I agree, CS2 as a much better gameplay foundation vs CS1.
Its not great yet. Simulations are broken. Performance sub par. And every time they patch they break something new.
But Im sure it will be great about 6 months from now.
Mate these guys don't even care that simulations are broken. This game is divided between those who want a fully functional working immersive simulation and those that enjoy map painting and care for little else.
Whoever oversaw the management of this project did an absolutely terrible job and I hope they lost their position in managing or creating any future games they might have. I would 100% fire whoever this person is, considering the fact that they caused a huge tanking in sales.
Cities skylines 2 could have been saved by Modding, but as you can see, there is no modding available. It's good as dead. I don't know why they're stalling on modding, which could take weeks or even months to come. I'm out.
Modding won't be available until performance is fixed so maybe around the Christmas period or after
multiplayer is what killed simcity
CS1 simulations were no better ... you could cheese them all day long.
