Buildings collapsing due to lack of maintenance?
This is 99% likely a tooltip or feature I'm missing, but my city just had it's own semi-9/11 when a skyscraper collapsed due to lack of maintenance. Not sure if it was occupied at the time. What am I doing wrong? What do I need to build/fund/increase to avoid this? Tooltip was unhelpful.

This seems to be because when a structure is abandoned for a long time it will collapse; essentially demolition by neglect. This does happen in reality, but not normally to skyscrapers as they're usually more robust. That said, it's not unheard of.

Ah, so I need to destroy buildings that are abandoned? I sometimes leave them to see if someone moves in. Good to hear that it won't happen to power plants etc. Cheers.

You may not have to, if you fix the issue that caused them to abandon in the first place. You could also overlay different zoning and fix it too. Take a look around whenever you see abandonment icons and see what might be the issue.

I think one of the mechanics here which is different than what we're all used to is the neighborhoods might not be as "set and forget" as we're used to, and may need zoning adjustments from time to time.

Always seems to be low rent. Huge demand for it for 3 minutes then the buildings get abandoned and they all move to suburbs haha.
