Chicken Farms NEED to be on Fertile Land
Even thought the flavor text in game says you can setup anywhere, production is massively hit when these farms are not on fertile ground. Check my recently uploaded Steam screen shots for reference.

Example - non-fertile ground - .3t production
-fertile ground - 320T production

Could be why you might be missing some exports and extra funds in your game.

Is that with the same size harvest plot?

Grain is the problem for me. My chickens create a massive deficit for it.

I've tried on many different spots across my city and see the same behavior. Not on fertile land and no production, same with stone. Only see this with chicken and stone farms.

Grain has been doing decent. Since adding my chicken farms to fertile lands, and stone to ore spots, my production has increased quite a bit. Still not meeting the deficit though......will continue to play around with it

The non fertile ground production figure is caused by the company area being slightly in a light-yellow area of fertility. It thus has no bearing on the functioning of a company that does not require it.

That's really weird that your livestock production would be so low without fertile ground. Here's mine and none of mine are on any fertile ground. I have to use all the fertile ground for vegetables and mostly for grain.

Yeah, not sure what the issue is. So far, I've seen that behavior in 2 different cities. Just started a new one and working up to farms. Should be there shortly.

Interesting. I actually ran into a similar thing. My rock quarry wasn't placed on a deposit, because game says it doesn't need one, but my production was .3t

Mine isn't on a deposit either and you can see on the production screen how much rock I'm producing.

If you're referring to what it says when you are drawing out the zone, then that's different.

....most definitely an ID10T error. New city is rocking without being on a deposit. I totally read this incorrectly.

I think it is just giving you false information.

Agreed. Wording should reflect that industries specific resource, even if it is not tied to a resource deposit.

No resolution to this issue, that I'm aware of.

Why limit resources to populated lands anyway. And if you are going to do it Devs why not make the maps randomly generate resources. So many mechanics in this game that need to catch up with modern gaming
You should see if this is mentioned on the Paradox forums where the developers can actually know about it for sure.
