I am Captain NO pre-order! Guys, this stuff makes games bad. Stop it! Waiting is free and you don't have to worry about getting a refund.
Really.
What a senseless post to most of the community that is unhappy with the game now.
I reviewed and refunded because its a lousy reskin with built in mods from #1.
No steam workshop.
The maps are horrible and are NOT bigger as advertised.
And thats where I stopped and R&R'd it. It was enough lies and smoke from a company I already dont like. I have no more patience for this garbage.
If I play it at all it will be for free on gamepass. Anyone who has gamepass and is not doing exactly that is as dumb as I thought I must have been for buying it here in the first place.
2. Refunds are a thing
3. Many (like me) play the game on Gamepass, so paid nothing, just come here to talk about it, cause Microsoft doesn't have a Forum like Steam
Also we all hopefully agree that they understated this, the performance isnt bad, its horrific.
I've only done 10 minutes of the tutorial, it feels smooth (so far) but the GPU fans are running like a 747 is trying to take off with too much load. The PC is drawing 700watts before I built a single structure.
I get 90 FPS or so in a new city after optimizing settings and disabling specific options (that should probably be disabled by default, given the performance issues...)
The default graphical settings aren't doing the game any favors, and they're just making the performance issues way worse compared to their potential graphical improvements.
But—My performance should be twice what it is, and people with older hardware shouldn't be getting 20 FPS, 4090 owners shouldn't be getting 15 FPS trying to run the game in 4K...
There is something seriously wrong here, and I don't know why the publisher would push them to release the game with such glaring performance issues, especially given the critical reception of recent game releases with similar issues.
One thing I find particularly interesting is how well optimized the game is when it comes to CPU utilization, but how absolutely atrocious the game is on the GPU.
Is it just performance?
