Biggest question I got is will it work with my 2070RTX SUPER and Intel Core I7 processor

My collected points from this and a few other videos/reviews.
  • High default setting breaks the game. It should probably be disabled by the devs.
  • This game will kill GPU's with the crazy intense GPU loading.
  • VSync has to be off.
  • 4k is unplayable without a 4090 and it still has 1% lows of 20 FPS.
  • 2560x1440p: Only a 4090 can get acceptable (60 FPS average, 30FPS 1% lows) performance. 4080 might be 'playable' depending on your tolerance for low settings or stuttering.
  • 3080ti or higher is required to get acceptable performance (60FPS Average, 30FPS 1% lows) at 1080p on medium.
  • This game is particularly brutal on cards with less than 10gb VRAM.
  • 3070's and lower need Low or Very Low settings to run up to 30 FPS.
  • CPU doesn't seem to matter too much.

He benchmarked my gpu in his tests with a cpu that is way below mine and showed that the game is playable, but I am definitely going to wait if or until they fix the performance issues.

So i can not enjoy the game with 60 fps on 1440p with 13700k RTX4800 32GBDDR5?
I will wait for the reviews before buying then.

I'm gonna enjoy Cities Skylines, the first game, for the next few years.

My RTX 4070 Ti and my i7 12700K can't even run CS2 at 30 fps at 1440p with low/medium graphic settings. At least the first game looks good at 1440p and runs somewhat ok. I don't get 144 fps on large cities, of course, but at least it's not a slide show. What's the point of switching to the newest game?

I've just built this PC, and it was kind of expensive. I'm not building a new PC for the next few years.

The game was updated on friday; and it'll likely receive several updates over the next few weeks and months. If you're hesitant to purchase the game, keep following the news updates to get a sense of when performance has improved enough to meet your play preferences.

I'll be trying it out on game pass before purchasing to get a better of where the game is at and make my choice. Eventually I will buy and play this game daily...I'm just not sure that day has come just yet. I wish the devs the best of luck in optimizing the game---we all stand to benefit from their success. Luckily for all of us, CS1 is a solid game and still tons of fun.

I watched this video and have requested a refund on the game. It looks like Cities Skylines 2 launch is going to be a bit of PR disaster for CO.

Even tho I have a MSI 4090... I'm still going to wait for a sale and dlc to catch up to cs1.

Yup he did, going above and beyond, by purchasing a whole load of computer components with the help of his followers. So as to get a good feel for how the game will go on different systems.

Thanks mister detective.

Yeah, I used to have crappy fps rate on my former PC. I thought about revisiting it now that I have upgraded. I was hesitating to go for the newest game, but it seems like it will run just like CS1 ran for me many years ago. Having to go back to 10-15 fps is just frustrating, especially after spending all that money.

And I don't want to go back to 1080p, I've just bought that new Asus 1440p monitor that I enjoy so much.

All good just stop the BS. You’re making it sound like you built all these big cities and had high fps. You’re rubbing ppl the wrong way.

I have 4080, i913900k, 64gb ram and I get below 30fps on CS1 at 1440p. I’ll actually get more fps from CS2.
