Cs2 is going the same route, which promotes a grid system over any road laouts frombeing organic and flowey.
I hated simcity2013. its was simply awful in almost every possible way, and unplayable at times.
simcity2013, felt very kiddy-fied if thats even a word. was dumbed down and made for kids. Cs2, is looking to become the exact same thing, where there is no challenge whatsoever, and everything is braindead, plop down and forget, mentality.
very disappointed.
huh?
The map size in simcity2013 was tiny. it was a small town sized area.
CS2, and CS1 has vastly huge maps, which will take you forever to fill up.
ok. so size.
but what else?
cs2 is very much the same game but with mods brought in as a base game mechanic. notebly the roads tool.
theres alot more changes under the hood in regards to economy and simulation, but if you have no idea about what a cities skyliens game is, just go play cs1.
simcity2013 is no where near cs1 or 2. theres a reason why simcity2013 died a quick death. lol.
But anyway, Sim City's biggest issue were the forced multiplayer. From that came all the other issues, mostly the small maps. Once it went offline, it was pretty decent game. Not on the level of Cities, or, heck, even Sim City 4, but still decent game, as long as you can live with smaller map sizes.
In Cities Skylines (1 and 2), the citizens have actual permanent residences and actual assigned jobs that they travel to and from every day. You can click on the citizens and see the address where they live, their job title, and where they work.
Everything works like the sewage system.
Poop goes to the closest servicebuilding.
Same goes for people.
This causes them to NOT live in a certain house, work a certain job etc. but could live in a different house and work a different job every day.
Not to mention day 1 map mistakes (outside connections not connecting... Don't recall the map's name). They simply refused to fix that particular map because people were refunding and they wouldn't put the assets/money into that.
Which showed how terrible Maxis/EA are...
Last EA game I bought (and refunded (with the threat of not being able to play other, already bought, EA games)).
Worst games company ever...
Unfortunately, it's is obviously a very similar game to Cities Skylines 1.
Cities Skylines 2 needs more than a road mod tool and a better engine - it needs multiplayer.
