Cars getting stuck

I now have several instances in my city of cars sitting in the middle of lanes and not moving, not changing direction, and not disappearing. It's gotten to the point where entire sections of my city cannot move. Is this a known issue?

usually when the traffic AI stuck, the game cheat by deleting all traffic..boom now your town clear.. just wait a bit.. but if the game do not clear it for you then yes your game is bugged
the more you play this game, the more you realize just how much the game is FAKE/cheated by the dev

Yep, I get the same from time to time. Start the game with --developerMode to turn on the dev ops. Press Tab, go simulation and somewhere in there there is an option to remove all residence/cars. It clears the whole map. Everything stills ticks along and you'll slowly start seeing cars pick back up. So don't panic. I've had to do this twice now.

Yep, I just encountered this too, there was "0 of 4" people in the car? I had to delete the road it was on to unclog traffic, but lost a bunch of high level buildings in the process. Waited quite a while, the game would not despawn it.

I get it with my own vehicles quite a bit, trams, trains, buses etc, just sitting and blocking all traffic and not despawning either

Sometimes you can unstuck them by adding a junction where they sit and removing it again forcing the car to recalculate its route
