Upkeep money is just too much

Its so difficult to keep up with the services upkeep money.
I think they are really high..
I just cant make profit.. even if i do its not for long time.
I also watched some youtubers and they are also in red most of the time..
I think upkeep need some adjustment. Especially with basic first tier things.. such as clinic or police...

It is a struggle to make money until you build up an urban core with high density zoning. Im at 25k pop with +40,000$, mostly been negative before that

Thnx seems your right.. but how am i going to survive till then? Its like no service for almost level 4 5

What worked for me so far is avoiding spending, stripping services like medical etc to 50% funding and when I can building two geothermal power plants to export energy.

you have a budget panel, decrease expenses to your services (instead of 100% lower to 85 or 80) and increase the rent for your zones.

or don't worry about being negative, the govt subsidy will keep you afloat, until you have more money than you know what to do with. The government subsidy is way too much in my opinion.

Don't worry about making a profit at first. Concentrate on getting the milestones, since those comes with lots of bonus money that will more than make up for it.

Then once you can build a geothermal plant and export electricity, you'll be fine.

90% of people complaining about income skyrocketing... i have no idea how you are losing money, if 99% of things you do are literally earning you hundreds if not thousands of cash. Its really hard to bankrupt, almost impossible even if you try hard

Also, you get cash every time you level up even if you’re running in the red so you get that supplemental money

Why you focus on the red number that early?
Every lvl the game throws a wopping 1 million + at you + the government support making it the most easy 'sim' ever made.
So just make green zones and pref dark green zones plop down schools and everything happens automatic mode.

Here is what i have done, stripped serviceas from 100% to 50-.75%
Turn the taxes to like 15-20%, on everything. Then unlock the Geothermal power plant and set that service fee high asf without making the citizens too annoyed so they dont move out.
