Street names are clunky
Honestly the naming of streets and roads are extremely clunky in this game. The first game never had this many issues with naming roads and streets. Is there any way to split street names? Cos I don't want for example "Victoria Street" which is supposed to be like a small neighbourhood road of maybe 600 metres, then as soon as it hits an intersection it extends for kilometres across my city and doesn't end until I make a T intersection.

Love it when my street names all change every time I build an intersection, lol
Bring back the ability to actually name streets and control where those streets go, why isn't this in the base game?

because it was rushed and/or not enough time was spent performing proper QC and QA of the features implemented already

I have named streets in neighborhoods. Today (after several days) I returned to said streets and they all had different names again. Never changed/rebuilt anything in the neighborhood. Naming for me makes no sense currently :D

I hope the devs realise there's zero reason to have the ability to change street names if you have no ability to actually control what street goes where, and they all change randomly anyway lol. Really hope they fix this.

Yeah I really hope they improve this in an update. I liked the way the first game did it where you could click on a street and then set the start/end points for the street.

I've not had any issues with the names randomly changing on their own, but it often happens when you're building new roads etc. Like if I have 1st Avenue running north to south and Alpha Street running east-west and happen to connect them together, it'll make the whole thing either 1st Avenue or Alpha Street. Then when I extend one of them, it'll split the name again but with a new randomly assigned name.

For now I think we just need to be careful when building roads. Though it is annoying that you can end up with a street name that goes on and on until it terminates in a T junction or similar. Even with a Y junction, the name of the road that forks will continue up one of the branches.

As a side note, if you've renamed a street and you build a bus stop, the bus stop gets named after the original street name, not the one you set it to (I've reported this).
I almost screamed when I noticed street names messing up. I mean, the most basic thing... and they mess that up. This game gets more and more disappointing the longer I play it.

Yeah it is irritating, but they did completely re-do the road building side of things from scratch. I'd be surprised if they don't fix this at some point down the line though, and so long as it gets sorted out in an update eventually I'm happy.

100% agree on this. For me it's such a basic feature that I find it hard to begin a city just because I know my street names will all be a mess

Hemlock Street always makes me smile.
1 Year later.... it's still borked.
