did they fix the 'fake' economy?
export and import not working properly at release and i´m wondering if anything in this economy even matters when i was green all this time without the city actually having a real economy. did they patch that?

There was never a fake economy, people just don't read or post things they don't understand.

All that happened was maybe city services don't buy locally as much as they should.

No, I'm sorry, but a lot of stuff is "fake".
I've tested things personally.

You don't have to build a garbage dump or incinerator. Nothing will happen.

Materials don't actually move between your commercial and industry. They can have zero connection to each other and function the same.

You can follow cars for yourself and see they don't go anywhere and just despawn.

It's looking like a lot of the supply lines and economy is an illusion. That's the only think that would make sense. It can't just be "bugged"; Economy works too good to be bugged. It functions when it shouldn't and the city ought to be in flames, and at the same time it doesn't respond when you're running a tight and efficient ship. It's almost like there is an invisible switch that gets flipped with the correct taxation once population is high enough, that makes you profitable.

2+2 is adding up to 5. 6+2 is also adding up to 5.
It does NOT feel right, or authentic. It's incredibly suspicious, and people keep finding inexplicable things that do not work like they said it would.

OP, honestly, don't trust either side, because everyone involved in this have reason to lie.

Just wait and see.

There is a bug where you end up gaining/loosing a fixed amount of money every second. Dosn't matter what you do.

Had it multiple times. Often + 20k or -1C for me...

So annoying...

dont think its a bug, because most of the cash from import/export and outsourcing stuff is calculated monthly, and not considered in x/h gains. Im sitting on -30k/h, and gaining around 7milions every hour of playing, just because i have 4 cargo trains running back and forth making 200k profit every few mins, and they are not even connected to my industry zones.

the "economy" in CS2 works with outside connections. So if your NOT producing it locally, the industry or whatever will IMPORT it via the highway into your city. If you look at the PRODUCTION tab in the Money menu it will show what your city is IMPORTING to work. You can then PRODUCE it yourself with the specialized industries. Livestock and Stone do not need special land to work, they work anywhere, and funnier still is that the Low Density Housing LOVES being next to/near a Livestock farm or any of the Farm types.

Importing seems to work. Production and manufacturing seem to work. But exporting doesn't seem to happen at all. If they fix that then this may all work ok.

This game so broken, it almost feels like a scam at this point.

it's easier to blame the game than admit own skill problem ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

so far the only real issues with the economy side of things is:
- generally agreed export isn't working, ships/train leaving with empty cargo
- the income information isn't well conveyed to the player

You clearly don't understand what issues exist and Paradox have recognised. Stop defending them

Mate even Paradox have admitted there are serious bugs with the economy and overall simulation

there are bugs, no one deny that.

the problem is some people treat it like some kind of end of the world problem, dramatically over dramatize it.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to pop in and shed some light on this situation as resource management in Cities: Skylines II is, unfortunately, affected by a few bugs at the moment. We are aware of this and currently investigating these issues:

City services only trade with outside connections, even when storage companies in your city have the resources they need. They should of course be able to purchase the resources your city produces locally.
Harbors are mainly trading with your city’s storage companies, not other zoned buildings or city services. As you would expect, they should be able to trade with all zoned buildings and services, allowing your city to import and export through them.
We’re investigating reports that indicate the cargo terminal is affected by the same or an issue similar to the harbors.

It’s also worth noting that transportation distance affects costs. We expect that your businesses will prefer the closest storage facilities over a further away harbor/cargo terminal, however, that does not explain the reports we’re seeing.

I want to apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your reports. The information you provide us is very valuable in narrowing down these issues, and should you encounter any other issues or unexpected behavior, please make sure to report them on our support forum. Response times are a little slow at the moment, but we are working our way through all of your reports and greatly appreciate them and your patience. Thank you.

Then post the issues lmao.

Haha, look at the videos on YT where a guy tears down all the connections to the outside. The city lives on... xD

The game right now is such a fake. I've always defended it for performance (no problems for me), but you don't have to defend such unfinished gameplay....
