Traffic simulation
My god. The traffic simulation is worse than in vanilla CS1. Cars making illegal turns, getting stuck for no reason and stopping at intersections even though there is no opposing traffic. Has anyone found a design for arterial connections which doesn´t break down immediately?

Roundabouts help.... a bit.... but yeah; I've started over a couple of cities already to find possible solutions for this especially because they don't give right of way to emergency services either so if you have an accident happening ON an intersection and it's NOT a roundabout then you can wait for ages whilst emergency services get stuck in the traffic jam as a result of the accident they're supposed to solve

What is your population at? I am at like 12,000 and I get a bunch of traffic from people going to work and heading back, but during the middle of the day and night, I dont get that much

It's better and worse, i think in rush hour the cims lose their damn mind.

It takes a lot longer to have traffic problems in this game, but boy when they do come.

I think pat of it is them filling the lanes, much likes in real life, they fill the lane THEN ♥♥♥♥ UP TRAFFIC WHEN THEY GET TO THEIR TURN JUMPING 3 LANES. It's kind of hilarious and frustrating watching it.

Yeah, I have selected "no left turn" yet all they did was to violate the rules haha

IIRC that's by design. Traffic Manager from CS1 had a similar system that was disabled by default where a certain percentage of people would ignore the rules you set to simulate ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like IRL.

Old city had 50k, but traffic got to a point of no fixing so I decided to restart. I am at 10k now and I have major issues on my arterial main roads with vehicles stopping at a no-traffic light intersection even though there is no oncoming ttraffic from the other side.

Pesdestrianss can cause this, they might be there but culled far away.

I don't think I've seen a car stop for no reason, usually it was to make a weird turn.

Exactly. It is frustrating to watch this sort of behavior leading to major traffic jams. If you implement a system of no-left turns, then you shouldn´t have all cars ignore it at will. If there is 1/100 idiots that still does it like in real life then thats fine, but in my city nearly all cars do whatever they want to do regardless of the environment. I´ve even seen cars do U-turns on my highways....

I´ve checked that. Removed all pedestrian crossings, no pedestrians in sight and yet the cars still stop. Also, pedestrians tend to cross my 8-lane roads wherever they feel like, predominantly at the points where I previously removed crossings...

i have had cars exiting a parking lot make a u-turn on the road and drive back into said parking lot
and buses parking horizontal on the road blocking everyone

I can confirm that they did this by design to simulate more creative interpretations of traffic law and to be more inclusive of creative maneuvers that people pull on streets. It was in a Dev Diary and a short YouTube video snippet of Roads.

Well, let me put it this way. I am not a fan of this. Waiting for mods to correct this I guess.

LOL. I’m sure city planners and traffic engineers aren’t fans of it in real life either.

I've had them stutter stop in an intersection if I plopped stop signs or a light down while they were in it.

they are driving too fast on 1x it does look mostly unrealistic specialy inside the city but i guess this is only my oppinion
