The underground water pipes
absolute nightmare, nothing connects properly very very frustrating. Weather its fresh water or waste water. Spent over an hour trying to connect pipes for nuclear power plant to the right pipes and still nothing got so frustrated. I had to close the game.

Dual pipes under roads. Run only water pipes from pumps to the dual pipes. For sewerage run only sewerage from the dual to the outlets. Also tripped me up at the start.

Also now I see you said nuclear plant. I gave up before then, not a fan of 12 fps.

Build the roads first then place the buildings

Pipes snap automatically. Just don't try to "extend" the pipe, but connect somewhere along it. Pipes are otherwise under road and you rarely need to add them in anyway.

Pipes you do are at -10m, pipes under road are more like -2m. Hence there will be a separate short vertical connector in between and you can extend from the end of a pipe that is under road. Go a cell or two backwards from there and it snaps automatically.

No, they don't snap automatically. It's simply frustrating. They have a gap of 8 meters under each other and don't snap at all. The vertical connector is completely bugged.

They snap. As I said, they don't connect from the ends, but along the pipe. Never had an issue with it.

And that's the described bug ...

Not as far as i can see. Pipes snap together and work. Ends can't meet as they are done in different heights. Just like roads can't meet when they are done in different heights. And so forth.

anyway, it is extremely easy to connect pipes and they work, so if you can't do it, maybe focus on that part rather than blaming someone else.
