My City is full of garbage
I'm consuming $4mil /h in resources for Garbage and garbage recycling and nothing is working,

I have 12 land fields, 4 Incinerators, 3 recycling plants, and one Industrial recycling,

I'm sure this is a glitch this is becoming frustrating to deal with

I have noticed that my garbage fills up also. Fortunately, though it's somewhat immersion-breaking, you can just use a landfill to hold it all and bulldoze and rebuild when it gets full.

However, I have a suspicion that, like power, your city will sell excess garbage capacity to neighboring cities. My port is importing garbage for some reason. In contrast, if you don't build any waste management at all, I think you will get garbage trucks from out of town to pick up for you.

That's my suspicion, too. I built more and more and more incinerators and landfills and they were saturated as soon as I built them, with garbage in my city not being picked up. Assigning incinerators to districts seems to help. But I also have a 1.2 million garbage trade deficit that's just been sitting there at precisely the same value since the start of the city, which clearly can't be right.

I too am overwhelmed by garbage and have built numerous landfills, incinerators and recycling plants, to no avail. I don't want to cover my map in landfills, nor do I want the incessant flashing garbage icons. What am I doing wrong? :(

It takes a very long time to clear the backlog. I had the same issue and even with 3 incinerators and an industrial waste processing plant and two landfills it took ages to get it under control.

I'd recommend building enough landfills so you have all the garbage in storage and you can see how much you have in total. Then build enough incinerators so that you are reducing the amount in the landfills each month.

Once the landfills are empty delete all but one, shutdown some incinerators until you are keeping ontop of it without wasting money

Same issue with Power, I produce so much power but on the Radio they announce power outages, and I see a 1 second my city goes dark and comes back, if you take a look at the screenshot I produce enough to sell and a full 800kwh battery

If you have too much excess garbage processing capacity, your city will start importing garbage.

Your landfills get filled up because all your garbage facilities send dump trucks between each other to try to even out the total load between all the processors.

Then they'll stop sending out collection trucks all together since it's cheaper to import garbage in bulk than it is to drive around the city to collect it.

The city can end up importing garbage faster than their ability to store it. The result is the imports get sent to the landfills and stay there.

160k population and use only 2 landfills. Just keep delete it when it's full and rebuild it. It's bug but good bug.

It might be possible to prevent this by setting district limits.

That's a good idea I hadn't considered!

So you can export your garbage capacity? Then incinerate all the garbage and then export the extra power? May have to try that.

lmao really, dont tell me you can delete it and rebuild it. That would completely break the whole point of the game mechanics. god sake. its another 'where is ctrl-z'? not having it for sewer building (when snapping and placement it is a bloody joke who the ♥♥♥♥ thought this was acceptable for a release in that state?).

when your really enjoying the prospect of the game but nobody wants to play or buy it because these buggy little things with transformers, power lines, sewers , no proper economics and landfills, well, its arguably as bad as the sim city release.

I'm excited about this games future, but for now a lot of sad face here about this

Yeah it is basically a perpetual motion machine for money but the downside is your garbage collection service will forget about picking up garbage from your own city.

I tried that and it didn't seem to help, for some reason only one or 2 trucks from my incinerators ever want to be running. The problem started for me when my landfill hit empty and I didn't turn it back on to fill. For some reason letting it fill up and then clearing it with the incinerators seems to help but of course is fairly annoying.

My next attempt is to better distribute the locations of the buildings instead of having a horrific sight of trash and smog for everyone passing in and out of the city

They definitely import garbage. I saw it myself. And I want an option to forbid it.

for me it's unplayable atm with this problem, not sure if my city imports it or it's just a bug
