Post sorting facility isn't doing anything

I was getting behind on mail with my 1 post office so I decided to build a post sorting facility. Problem is it has 0 mail in it and uses 0/10 vehicles. Its just straight up not gathering anything. I don't understand why. Anyone got an idea?

Yea it seems like your postal service needs to be basicially 50% full or even higher before it even comes to collect anything

i have mail rate of 85000 and processing of 21 200 no matter what i do i cant get it higher i can build how many post offices or sorting facilities as i wont the number stays there Screnshot also mailboxes are mostly empty any ideas?

Its bugged rn. As far as I understand it, it works like this: Post offices will gather mail until roughly halfway full. THEN the post sorting facility will send 2 trucks to pick up half of that or so and sort it. It does NOTHING until the post offices are about halfway full. That means that your mail will stack up in the tenths of thousands until the facility considers sorting it. Its a weird bug right now. No way to fix it as far as I can tell. Just pick up the mail and keep your sorting facility to 1 max

thanks i went to paradox forum and it is a ''confirmed'' bug whatever that means so hopefully they do something asap.

The bug is there's no mail coming in from outside the city.

The mail sorting facility won't send a truck to pick up collected mail from a post office till there's about 60,000 uncollected mail. When it does this, it also loads its trucks up with sorted mail to drop off at the post office.

If you don't have enough for the sorting facility to pick up at the local office, they will not send the truck.

If your post office runs out of mail to deliver, they'll switch all their vans to collection only and you have to wait, sometimes a long time for your city to generate enough unsorted mail to deliver back to the post office.

Here's where the real problem comes in and might be bug #2. Post office vans only pick up from medium and high density when they are doing a delivery.

If there's no mail to deliver, they never collect the mail sitting in the zones. Mail piles up, everyone gets unhappy about it.

So you have to sit there and wait for your industrial, commercial, and the few pedestrians who use the mail drop off boxes to generate enough mail to fill the post office before things start working again.

Thats how it is for me now. My low density residential Zones are green, but for the others no mails get picked up, no matter how much post offices i've built. I have -14 everywhere because of the mail service.

placed a few hundred more mailboxes and the problem slowly getting resolved, they actually using over half the cars now too

Until they re-balance or tune the mail mechanics, all I can recommend doing is closing all your post offices except for one. Hopefully that one can collect enough unsorted mail from your other zones to get the sorting facility to wake up again.

Here's another tip to help fix it. With your sole post office doing the collections, periodically turn the building off. This makes all the vans it has out on the road return to the depot and drop off the unsorted mail they have otherwise they will stay out there until they have a full load or cancel their partial drop because some guy dropped some mail in a mailbox 10 miles away.

I tried cheesing it with cheat engine as I had 80000 mail rate and hard locked 18000 processing i changed 18.000 to 200.000 processing and let the game run for like 15 minutes yesterday and around three big buildings got from red to orange but that was all I got no more cars got dispatched and I had like 10 post offices around and a mail sorting facility

Think we just need to take a break and stop playing. Let them fix the game and check back in 2-4 weeks because right now half the game doesnt work
