About Outside Connections
Hey there fellow Cims!
What am I missing?
I have a cargo train station aswell as a passanger train station both connected to the outside connection rails. But I fail to have import/export trains or tourist trains arriving.
Can someone explain to me, how these work in CSII?

Do I need to create lines to the outside? If so, how would I do that?

cheers

I'm also confused about not having tourists, given I built the rail yard and the passenger station, all connected to the outside connection line.
You need to create a line. For example, if you have a passenger line that you wanna connect to the connection, start the line, connect it to the connection and make it come back to your city to form a loop.

Just figured out how to acquire tourists through rail.

Does your map already have a rail line leading to the edge of the map?

See your answer below:

Yes?
Connect station to rail with a rail line. Create a route with the "Passenger Railway Line Tool" under "Transportation" of the main UI. Select the train station platform as the first stop, select the edge of the map rail line icon as the second stop, and to close the loop select the same train station platform as the final stop.

No?
You must buy all of the land leading up to the edge of the map. After which you then must create a rail line leading to the edge of the map. (Follow the guide for answer "Yes" from here)

Thanks, that was it.
It gets really dumb when it comes to boats. You literally have to buy empty water tiles just to connect to the shipping lane. :/
Does this also apply to Cargo Rail? (I have to set up the loop connected to the outside connection node?)
