How do you control noisy areas?
I keep getting people saying that it's too noisy in my city. In CS1 you would use trees and stuff and it would help with sound. I don't want to use trees in CS2 because you lose parking spaces when you do it, and then my residential areas just look like ghost towns.

My people complain about that even when it's just a tiny bit of noise leaking onto their house.
I don't think the trees even reduce the noise in this game, I tried it and the noise pollution was the same.

I believe that a lot of those complaints come from single family homes that happen to be located in areas of larger density nearby. Like if you happened to zone medium or high on the same road as low on the same street.

Those NIMBYs are even in the game!

Those complaints dont make sense in my game either. Even early game, map dont show any noise polution at home.
I am starting to wonder if they are also affected while at work, or maybe even while shopping. Same with air polution.

Pollution affecting health while at work I could kind of be down for, but threshold of complaint should be raised in that case.

I make the poor people live there. Low rent housing is noisy anyway.
Schools and police stations have a lot of noise pollution. I try to keep residential buildings away from those areas.

You can't really as cars/buses make noise. You can control high noise buildings as others have said.

Would not focus too much on this aspect of citizen happiness. Doesn't impact overall happiness that much.
