Solar Planet Batteries
The back up batteries for solar planets do not work at all.

At any point are you producing more than the city consumes? Gotta ask as your post is lacking a lot of detail

He is absolutely right. Battery Backups are bugged. They do not work. I have a Surplus of batter backup and they are not being used. Instead my city is importing power through the rail connection for some reason instead of using battery. The moment I remove my rail lines from outside connection is the moment my cities starts using battery backup. Reconnect rails and it begins to import again.

Batteries only activate when you have zero power.

So, if you're connected to an outside source, you will import power.

The batteries are supposed to be for emergency power.

I don't know if it's intended that they don't activate during night hours when the solar plant is offline and you can import power, but it seems to be the only way they activate is if you cannot import.

You can turn off the substation during night hours to make the batteries work, then turn it back on during day so you can export again.

Could be bugged that they aren't prioritized over importing...

But to say they don't work at all is just false.

I am having the same problem. If I turn off my substation at night I am getting a blackout though, even with the solar plant sitting with full batteries.

Potentially a bug, batteries do get used when the plant starts again at sunrise.
Is it an employment issue? I have no highly educated workers for the plant so maybe thats why it will not use battery power at night?

It might be. Its not a problem I have and I thought I've seen them all.

To be fair, speaking of my experience so far, I found that some of the things that are dead on one map work fine in others.

Each map seems to have it's own unique set of bugs and broken in my experience.

Might explain the dizzying amount of disagreement of what works and what doesn't in general.

If I experience a blackout on purpose and cut a village off from power the battery remains at 100 % and wont work. Power is needed but that silly solar thing wont send power to the houses.

Same issue I got a load full of energy in batteries at my solar plant but at night they are not used and my whole city has no electricity
solar planets, so like, stars?

I will leave now...

yea it bugged. guess they break something again...

I run a test off, it appears the entire solar power is lock out of the grid during night time with or without those batteries as even the batteries supposed come with the power plant fails to cycle any power after all other source are cut.
