should i be conserving non renewable resources?

I have a huge coal mine that employs like 150 people. Am I going to make good money off of surplus coal exports or is it a better Idea not to overproduce?

Nonrenewable resources definitely last a lot longer here than in CS1 and a couple of oil drilling sites has given my city an industrial boom on petrochemical refining for the better part of an in-game year. I think as long as you have some industrial zoned and a healthy throughput for goods, your industries will try to make use of it rather than exporting.

It seems like im making money off of it but part of what im asking if its a good strategy long term or if i will just run out of resources and have to import them. the way cities skylines does resources has always been odd to me non renewable resources will eventually run out sure but they go so fast in cities.
