Bus station grid locking itself
I planned a transit hub near a downtown area, complete with separate pedestrian, bus, and tram infrastructure. The idea was for the bus station to be a central part of this hub. I was disappointed, for several reasons.

First off, I expected the bus station, with it's large footprint, to include at least a(n upgrade option) for tram stops, and preferably also subway and/or tram connections.

What I did not expect, is for the bus station to come with a large car parking lot. Not only is this wasting space, it's also generating a ridiculous amount of car traffic. Car traffic that is completely grid locking the station, while happily ignoring traffic restrictions on the bus lane.

The 'entrance' to the station is a one-way bus lane that starts several blocks away from the exit. Nevertheless, there's so much car traffic flowing in to park at the station that it completely blocks the lane(s), and stops traffic flowing out.

To make matters worse, the internal paths of the station are only one lane wide, with car traffic sharing bus entrances/exits. The cherry on top is that once the exit is congested, exiting car traffic takes priority over bus traffic.

I could possibly work around these problems Moving the one-way street that serves as entrance to be 'before' the exit would stop the two flows sharing traffic (but that's tricky, requiring either bridges/tunnels, or for all traffic in the area to be routed around the station in a counter-clock wise fashion, as the building cannot be mirrored. Also note that there is already several blocks between entrance and exit). Providing more parking options in the area might also help, but the whole point of this transit exercise was to encourage public transit over car traffic.

Has anyone managed to make the bus station work in a high-traffic area? Are there tricks to truly forbidding private car traffic from bus lanes?

I want to engage with this puzzle and come out with a good looking, functional solution - but the tools the game is currently giving me seem to be inadequate, which is getting frustrating.

Actually, the bus parking slot direction at the bus station is designed for left-hand traffic, while the port and container port are designed for right-hand traffic. There are still many minor bugs and logical errors like this in the game, which is frustrating. I hope they fix them or allow mods to introduce new assets.
