No Vehicles
"There are currently no vehicles available. Consider building more depots to gain access to a larger pool of vehicles"

Okay game, HOW?! My port, airport, and train depots are all saying they have no vehicles but when I open the transportation tab I only see bus, train, tram, subway, ships, airplanes. NO TRUCKS.

I have the same problem with my cargo train. Passenger train is fine though on my side

What's weird is that when I placed my port I saw like 10-20 semi trucks spawn in the center of the port and start driving out to the connecting road. They just drove off and never came back I guess. They've gone to a better place.

It's probably something easy that will leave us face palmed... but I would really like to know lol

Found it... I think

At the bottom of the HUD, there's something called transport overview. I was able to reduce the amount of trains for my passenger lines to a minimum and it freed up some trains for the cargo terminal that was giving me the no vehicles error. Although it took a few "months" to disappear, I believe it was the issue

This applies in many cases.

For example you might have 25 vehicles on that route, (whatever the route is) but 15 of them are in maintenance.

The only solution is to out pace maintenance with volume and upgrade or add more depots. It's kind of hard to keep up with those depending on how much land you have.

IF you go to the line manager you can see what route have zero vehicles. They just need more depots or garages.

Idk if this is helpful but I was also struggling with this but realized I needed to add a train yard and then it resolved the issue. A bit of a facepalm after I realized that that’s what was missing!

Yep, same here. It would be helpful if the game could specify train yard, bus depot.

I think I figured it out.

First, make sure your roads are connected along the entire frontage of the cargo station. There are actually two sides if you want to add an extra siding, so you cannot put more storage on the back side of the station, or you will not be able to put your road along the back side.

Second, I strongly suggest you flatten out the entire area for your station, including room for the extra storage and a road along the back side. Sometimes the terrain will block the trucks from spawning.

Third, make sure you fund transportation 100%. The efficiency of the station needs to be 100% for vehicles to work properly. Personally, I think this is a minor glitch and they need to let it adjust according to the percentage you fund it, but for now this is important.

I ended up having to demolish and rebuild the station since there seems to be no way to edit an expanded station at this time.

I hope this helps.

I figured it out. You have to have tracks connected to the garage part of your train yard! That's where the trains come out from. You have to have a train yard AND a train station or Subway Yard and subway station. Then connect the tracks to one of the actual covered garages. Amazing they don't even give you a hint to do this.
