What in the ♥♥♥♥ does it take to connect an electric cable? I can't power anything
Even though I've carefully, METICULOUSLY connected my electric cable DIRECTLY to the wind generator, it still shows "Electric Cable not connected." What in the mother ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ name of god does it require to actually connect the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cable? This game is really a huge step down from the first.

At first, I was confused too. But then I started to read what all the different stations in the power section and suddenly things made sense.

My suggestion: Start a test city with unlimited funds and learn the basics that way.

the connection is clunky as hell, check ground/under ground level if there's any unused cable

also there's two types of connection, 1 is line , another is cable, for some reasons there are different

This was never an issue in Cities 1. between this, and the fact that the colors get all ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up every time you try to do anything, ("filters") and the terrible performance, I don't see why this would ever be more fun to play than Cities 1

This is a fresh map. I've done nothing but build a wind generator and literally just ONE piece of wire. That's all there is. One piece of wire and a generator. And it's not connected.

All they did was just make the game more realistic. It's really not all that hard. There are now Power substations.

Small lines connect into it as well as the large ones.
Connect the large lines into the sub station, then use the smaller ones to power your town.

I played many hours of Cities 1 and never once, EVER had problems doing basic things like this.

Looking at the picture, the power line at the far end away from the generator isn't connected to anything - that is what the icon means.

Yeah but it has to be connected to your road network for it to do anything.

Wait, so you *HAVE* to use that one free wire included with the city? The one that's coming in from the adjacent place?

This isn't Cities 1 though. This is Cities 2 and it's clear they've made some changes from the first game.

The game is trying to tell you that the power wire isn't connected to anything. A power generator can't do anything if it has nothing to power.

I'm not sure if you have to use that, but you should connect into it so you can automatically purchase power if your generation isn't high enough.
