No it doesn't export because I check the cargo hold and it only piles up.
^^ this ^^
If you import goods notice you pay ZERO for the imported goods as the businesses pay for the imports as they require them,
Only time you will see goods being exported OUT is when you transfer them from one city to another you built not a AI city,
Industrial buildings import goods make products and then sell them to shops or export them to other citys you own if you require the goods and that are not linked to a AI trading Post (otherwise they will import and fill storage),
You earn money from the taxes from the income these businesses get from selling the goods made from importing and producing products, generating resources rather than importing causes more income for you in taxes as the businesses expenses are lower as not requiring imports,
therfor profits are higher and you get more taxes,
REMEMBER GOODS ARE NOT OWNED BY YOU.
And even if it were (which is not so clear at the moment) then it is still broken. Either the export really isn't right, or they at least need to adjust the figures under production...
If it says that I export XY tons, then the stuff has to physically leave the city... and that's exactly what not happens or didn't happen. (Regardless of who owns the stuff!)
Even your beautifully written words don't help...
And by the way, the special industry is still broken... I have several grain farms, the majority of which supposedly still produce exactly what I had at the beginning with one farm... and that's where the problem starts... 400 tons produced by myself, but 4000 tons imported... the system is more than broken at the moment... even for a fan like me there's nothing to defend at the present time.
these items are sold in shops and are not exported,
it states in the game that only sewage, electric and water can be exported to AI,
This is why there is no stats or sale reports on exports other than SERVICE EXPORTS as they are the only ones that can export,
otherwise you would be bankrupt from the automatic imports from AI,
with a automatic import and export system you would be buying all goods at a high value and sell them back at a lower value, (Broke Very Quick)
To allow ownership of goods to make income from exports then import and exports would need to be Manually Set by the player,
But we don't own the goods so city skylines 2 can use a automatic system as your income is from taxes.
