I hate the roads!

I'm talking from a pure design point of view here, but I hate the way they've designed the roads in CS2.

Specifically, I hate the light grey lines they've placed on top of the dark grey asphalt. Is it supposed to show wear and tear? Is it supposed to visually show where each lane is going?

We already have the white dashed lines to show us lanes, we already have arrows showing directions. And we already have the traffic to show us where the traffic is! These new light grey lines seem completely superfluous from a gameplay point of view, and just downright awful in terms of aesthetics.

At the end of the day, if a road in game doesn't look like a road in real life, it's failed in its design. The closest it comes to looking like a real life road is the short stretch of road outside of a construction site that gets covered in dust. Except in CS2, thats every road and not just near construction sites.



Am I the only one who feels this way? Has anyone found an option or upgrade that gets rid of these pointless grey lines?

Hate to say it, but I agree with this, the light gray parts should be used more sparingly and not on every single road.

I believe that often enough the colors are dull and depressing overall. Buildings are boring, etc.. I mean who even picked that background picture in the menu with DayZ abandoned houses and all is kind of gray overall.

IMO it would be fine except that it's backwards. Most roads, the worn part stays darker. I know there are exceptions though

I am hoping that one of the first mods to be released removes that god-awful grey streak in the road. Whoever thought that was a good idea, should go outside and actually look at real roads.

I'm pretty sure that's not part of the objects themselves, it's just a visual indication of which lanes are connected.

I was wondering if I could turn those indicators off
