Seriously, do you actually believe this BS?
If this is the only game where your GPU hits 99%.. why did you honestly buy it?
and can't figure out why there is performance issues.

I managed to get 50% GPU usage with almost everything at Average except :
Dyn resolution, Fog, Motion Blur : Disabled
Reflexion : Low
And, most important full HD (1920) instead of WQHD (20440)
Good to have a 3070 Ti and not being able to play in WQHD on a 27'' monitor...
People saying it is normal don't understand how a game is working as AI, trafic, etc. is not managed by GPU... Meaning the 3D engine sucks as building is almost a simple rectangle shape, meaning no poly, no animation, etc...
End of story.
Personally I would rather not risk bricking my PC playing this game for any length of time.
I'm leaving well alone until I believe this game is safe to play without risking long term damage, if that day ever comes
Games should not be maxing out a GPU on the menu screen with nothing going on, thats something doing something it shouldnt,
i9-11900K
RTX 4070ti OC (Asus TUF)
32GB RAM (CL14, 3600)
1TB NVME gen 4 (Samsung 990 Pro)
Game settings:
4K resolution
All to max
Scaling: constant
disabled Depth of field, motion blur
empty map ==> 80-90FPS
city 10k - 40k ==> 60-70FPS
city 125k ==> 50-60FPS
Main menu ==> 120FPS
There is even players with RTX4090 and same low performance.
I would like to know on which HW developers test this game. They probably test it on the lowest settings or maybe they have super-computer...
Here is the same issue: https://steamcommunity.com/app/949230/discussions/0/7119694643865986157
Right, worse @ low settings. Big Problem...... If it had been optimized a bit before, it wouldn't have had such a negative impact on me. Optics are important to me. It may be that some people spend 2-4 thousand dollars to play the game well. But I'm waiting for the 5000 series....
Its not as if the game was worth the risk, I would rather have my PC alive to play other games.
I'm leaning towards CO isn't using hardware acceleration for their simulation algorithms and pathfinding and this is the bottleneck that causes low FPS as the city grows. that's why people with 4090 a superior card still experiences issues. the graphics of the game shouldn't be that taxing. and notice how even if you zoom in still fps low. also try to pause the game then play again, you'll notice a moment of fast movement. that's because the calculations threads were done when you paused it. but as it recalculates again it slows down again.
