Black Screen & All pc Fans Maxxed out!
Intell i9 10850; RTX4090 (not OCed) 64gb Skill RAM, M.2
This only happens when, or after I run CS2.

Since I installed yesterday, and after it updated again this morning, the game at some point just causes the pc to completly lick up. I can still hear sounds from the game, but Keyboard & Mouse don't work. The game and my extra screen go black and all of my fans max out.

I have held the power button to shutdown, and restart. But sometimes I need to unplug the power from the wall, or it will just boot into the black screen & maxxed fans again.

I have an intel i9-13900 and GTX 4090 with 64Gb RAM and the GPU runs at about 80% with a max temp of around 72C when in CS2

I have a 3070ti and a ryzen 5 5600x with 48gb of ram and 3tb of storage and my fans are at max for cpu and gpu all settings are on high. My max temp on my gpu is 78c but my game runs fine. So sorry thats happening.

>all fans maxed out
working as intended, according to the devs in the latest post. it's for modern hardware.
if it's not putting your pc into to overkill, your not getting the full experience.

AMD Ryzen 7 7700 (3.8GHz)
G.Skill 16GB DDR5-5200 RAM
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti Graphics Card
1TB SSD
Gigabit LAN, 2x2 Wireless LAN WiFi 5 (802.11ac), Bluetooth 4.2 (copy pasted from website I know nothing about computers). $1,400 MSRP got it for 900 and have had absolutely no issues whatsoever with anything related to performance. I have a ♥♥♥♥ bucket monitor because I don't care enough to spend the money to buy it (doesn't even to HD) so that might have something to do with it but so far so good

If the fans are boosting to max it's likely because the BIOS has shut down, which is likely to be a) overheating on the CPU or motherboard or b) PSU tripping out because the draw is too high. Assuming the motherboard has integrated temperature sensors you should be able to monitor the temps via afterburner or the like, if they're getting too high then check the case cooling. If it's power check your PSU is capable (wattage and voltage) of providing full supply to the system under full load with room to spare.

OK, I uninstalled CS2 yesterday, and I still had the Black Screen & Fans all Maxxed out. So, I completely removed all my nVidia Driver files using DDU. And installed the old ones(537.42), and things seem ok now. So, I reinstalled CS2 and so far, after about 1.5 hours I've had no problems.
Sacb0y Oct 27, 2023 @ 11:56am
verify integrity, maybe? Or maybe run DDU? I have a 3090 and I haven't gotten a crash or anything in 32 hours of play.

Only issue i had is the game didn't shut down properly once.

OK.... Now it just did it again about 3 mins after I closed CS2.. Damn!!!

Yea, I did a Verify, and also ran DDU in safe mode, and reinstalled the old drivers, but they are doing it now too. So, I just Reset my CMOS... We'll see if that does the trick. Sometimes it does..

Well, when I first got the game, the AA was not working at all in any mode.. So, that's when I tried updating my nVidia drivers. That's when I started getting this problem... And here I am now.. Hope CMOS reset fixes it.

Fresh Windows 11 install with Nvidia 545.92 drivers same deal

AMD 5900x
MSI MAG X570 TOMAHAWK WIFI
G.Skill F4-3600C16 x 4 64GB
GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3080 Ti GAMING OC 12G
Seasonic FOCUS Plus 750W 80+ Gold

Though it might have been power issue so I removed my sleeved extensions off power to ensure wasn't bad power but no dice same behavior.

its odd i have a 15-3400f with 32gb ram and 3060, Got to admit temps are cpu 66c and gpu around 77C. They peak for me around 79c for both.

The odd thing is the only settings i have turned off are motionblur and dynamic resolution. im running on 3440x1440 165hz.

while yep its pushing my pc hard, i dont seem to be sturgglely to run it.

But a friend who is running literally top of the line tech, 4090 and 19 13th, had the same issues you seem to be having. for him the solution was to shutdown programs he had running in the background. He had a few things that were trying to push both his gpu and cpu over 100% and it was causing his pc to hardshutdown to basically save the hardware.

It does seem if you have even a background browser running it pushes it over the limit.
