Looks like CS2 was a victim of review bombing... Reviews keeps getting better and better.
So it looks like tons of people bought / refunded the game instantly and now that other people have had actual time to play the game their giving it positive reviews. It's sitting near 50% vs being somewhere like 25% yesterday at some point.

I think the point here is outside the performance issues the game is awesome it's a monster, we just need to now get that performance more refined.

Problem is this WAS released TOO EARLY cause of PDX. PDX is literally a SHAREHOLDER of CS. I feel bad for CO cause they are yet another victim of shareholders sticking into developers hair where they DON'T BELONG like what happened to CDPR. However, difference between CO and CDPR is CDPR was dev and publisher. In a way, they ruined THEIR OWN company and now why they are owned by MS but at least Cyberpunk made a bounce back, however, CDPR is yet another company bending to the ESG score so I see their CEO getting fired by MS. PDX in a way will be yet another brick in the wall of companies that went bankrupt and should've stayed put and looked pretty and let the developers do their work and enjoyed a full balanced and stable launch of a game. Let this be a lesson to any developer, you listen to shareholders, you get a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ launch. Nuf said.

I frankly took it as people that were too inept to change their graphics settings in the in game settings page. The fact that the real heavy hitters for frames were on as default is a mistake by the devs. That said when you turn those settings off it runs fine. The devs failed to tailor things to the lowest common denominator when it came to settings. Not the worst error in the world, but it lead to the inept having a freakout. Lesson for the future, some gamers need someone or something to hold their hand to find out what settings work with their rig.

That is one explanation for the data. Reviews going up, so the game must be popular and people were just being haters for no reason.

Another explanation: People honestly had problems, people reviewed the game negatively, potential customers who knew they would have bad performance, like myself, were scared off (cutting off a source of negative reviews), leaving only a smaller player base of devoted fans who are willing to tolerate the issues providing only positive reviews.

If we add in the current player count, with is 80,000 compared to 104,000 yesterday, that is more than a 20% drop in players in 24 hours. Not good for a release window.
Um, people still working or even started working here in NA. Give it another 5-6 hours on that population.

Oh I do agree on that. Still, this game should've stayed in the oven for at LEAST another year and CO should've told PDX to go get bent and let them do their work.

The only time there was a review bomb was when steam released paid mods and people unleashed on skyrim.

Bad launch with terrible performe IS NOT REVIEW BOMB. OP isn't very smart.

Its not review bombing if the concern is valid.
That's just a review.

That you don't like said reviews doesn't make it a grand conspiracy.

Yesterday people were defending the drop in player count because EU was asleep. EU is currently awake and at home at prime gaming hours, and the count is at shy of 80,000.
Yes, but that peak was not for another 2+ hours. Go based on that not when everyone in NA are working lol.

I won't deny that the game was released too soon with an eye on the performance issues

HOWEVER

If you don't mind taking a SLIGHT hit to fidelity then the game is perfectly playable. It's basically a case of people wanting the top notch experience with all the bells and whistles on day one (and I, partly, don't blame them) but that's simply not the time we live in anymore when it comes to AA- or AAA-games....

I'm having fun though.... well... was... didn't realise the game's autosave was off by default and had a lockup (not even due to the game) and fell back from a 20K pop 500K/mnth income city to a 5K pop with -25K balance.... THAT kinda sucked and I'm calling it for today but I'll be back tomorrow :)

Most people that bought it will do what I did when I bought cyberpunk: uninstall and put it on the back burner for 6+ months and then come back to see if the game is better than it was. Only sensible thing to do at this point. Just hope CO learned their lesson with trusting PDX as a publisher.

review bombing has lost all its meaning. this isnt a coordinated attack to shame the dev. they have legitimate issues lol. But yet, I just can't get with the narrative that bad reviews en mass means its being "bombed". thats just hive mind bs.

Oh yeah when you see like hundreds if not thousands at once, its a directed attack, but most of these reviews are warranted. This game was released TOO EARLY.

I would have rather waited a few extra months so that the game had better optimisation on launch. It is one of the major issues that is holding it back atm.

I'm sure there will be further optimisations but I can agree with the 'too early' statement.

Being at 50% isn't an improvement. It's a city building game. Release it in working order and get a 94%.
scouser89 Oct 25, 2023 @ 9:04am
the game is ok, but will see improvements over mods, etc, yes the performance not the best, but this will get better as updates, CO got hammered for the console game being delayed, if they held the PC one as well, they would get slaughtered, but now they have released it they are also getting slaughtered for the games performance. People are wanting Modern Warfare III, that has the money and the staff, but CO dont have that, setting the graphics setting lower just means can play the game. Give it a few months and everyone will forget that as people will be excited to see the new DLC's, especially if you bought the ultimate edition like i did
