How to remove bodies of water/flood?
I have done some terraforming at the cost and now there is a big body of water floating accross the area and the city.

I have the same problem and it keeps happening. For me leveling the terrain has been a night mare so far

Exactly the same for me. I destroyed the neighborhood and raised the terrain so the water is not visible, but I cannot draw the roads again because it says they will be in water. This sucks.

Well, I have a reversed questtion: how do I make a pond/lake? I mean with no water acces nearby.

I would advise agaisnt trying to make your own lakes and ponds, until they release a Water spawning emitter that you can customise the height with, like in CS1.

Currently the onyl way to make lakes and ponds, is to cause a flood, or to channel water from the river/sea, and enclose it afterwards with terrain, however, as people have said above, you can no longer build on where the water, has been, for some reason.

I have the same problem, I accidentally place a building near the coast and water slowly get in, in winter so its all white I didnt notice until some buildings were water damaged. I use the water tool to see the flow direction of the little pond then level from the nearest water body to the end of the flow and its flowing out, not sure if it will disapear all the water that got stuck in yet.

Same here, some buildings near the coast caused the water to slowly enter the city. Now it just sits there and doesn't evaporate. My city is build on a slope, so slow but steady parts of water spill down the hill and flood all parts of my city, but the "main pond" stays the sime size. Sometimes the tide even rises...
FIX IT! Please!

That's a bug... save and reload and you'll be able to build over it

Yep, save and reload (or restart game) and the Message 'Over water' will be gone.

This happens to me all the time, the elevation tool is way too sensitive.

This is happening to my city too. It's really frustrating, especially since there is nothing I can do about it.

don't use dynamite to landscape...

The physics of water are horrible...it looks like gelatin and the fluid is very "viscous"
We can't make artificial lakes because...oh right, there are no brush for water, great job CO!
