So I pre-ordered this something I almost never do.
Mainly because cs1 was really a game changer and I modded the heck out of it back when it released but eventually I had enough and moved on to other things. Was really looking forward to CS2. Then we get on the day of release and there's a vid showing us a nice mod editor but we haven't given it to you and we aren't going to tell you when you will get that. Appreciate that might not be a huge disappointment for everyone. However for me personally it means I've purchased something with false expectations.

it was told by the devs already before that the modding option would come later. That the where still working on it to improve the things. I have seen them say this about two weeks ago already. It was for sure not something that the told at the last moment.

Anyway following previous comment. - i went on a hunt - It was mentioned in a dev diary on the ParadoxPlaza forum on the 18th October. So 6 days before Launch.

Also the fact the mods will be hosted on a Paradox server was mentioned in the city skylines ii play-through about the same time and there was an attempt to spin the fact that its missing as a positive thing which it obviously isn't really.

- This fact doesn't change the level of disappointment that its not there yet.

Also there is no date for release or have I missed that too?

Nope, I have found no announcement for the release of their own mod service. I still can't believe they were stupid enough to not only not have a workshop on release BUT also kick the modding community right in the teeth by ditching Steam Workshop.

Hmmm - I'm not bothered yet about where the mods are hosted. I'll wait to see the alternative first. As a modder I'm quite happy for any mods I make to be available to console users / other platforms.
