garbage system is broken

My town has a pop of 5.3k and is generating 35t of trash. I have an upgraded recycling plant and 2 landfills and thats only enough to process about half the garbage. Each one has a 20 truck capacity but usually only 0-1 are in use at a time. Half my budget is used on trash collection and I'm hemorrhaging money.

I might have figured it out. There's garbage and there's industrial waste. The industrial waste can't be recycled or burned but gets counted in the garbage total. I have the final industrial waste processor building and all it has done is send out dump trucks to pick up garbage from my other storage sites.

Where my recycler and incinerator say "stored garbage" in the info window, the industrial waste processor says "stored industrial waste."

Still testing this out.

Update: The industrial waste processor has now stopped sending out dump trucks to gather from all my incinerators and recyclers and has sent out it's own garbage collection truck that actually says it is collecting industrial waste, not normal garbage.

I have a 13k population city with only one incinerator plant and for whatever reason I'm having no garbage issues at all. If it is broken, I'm ok with it,

Bulldoze all your garbage facility's and one of the outside city's will send garbage trucks to collect all your city's garbage and take it away for free.

kinda stupid to expect someone to dump 8 points on end game garbage management to put a dent in it. if they're going that route they really need to go "so garbage and industrial waste are separate"

edit: built it and surprise, same behavior of getting clogged up into doing nothing and even better, you can only build 1 of them :/

You didn't answer the question. Do you have one built? I decided to try it out because the recycling plant lets you build hazardous waste collection points as an addition to them. I don't think the incinerators are processing industrial waste either. Just a theory I'm testing so I want to see if anyone else who has the industrial waste processing site built is still having the problem.

Since I've built it, it picked up about 155 tons of industrial waste from my incinerators and recycler. It hasn't gone back since an occassionally sends out a collection truck for industrial waste that returns with very small amounts, like less than a ton.

I'm wondering that since all the waste management buildings act as warehouses for waste, if there's this hidden "industrial waste" that needs its own facility that is piling up.

People are reporting that their processing rates don't make sense and I wonder if this is why.

Let's think logically for a second here. Imagine your city only has a recycling plant. It says it has "stored garbage."

Is all of that garbage recyclable?

Why are people expecting a recycling plant to handle 100% of the garbage from a small town?

How does a recycling plant process hazardous waste?

All my incenerator plants are full, 700 processing ability and only 260 produced. I have so many buildings with the garbage sign, so frustrating...
