Eh... no. You clearly weren't there at SimCity's launch. Servers were swarmed, half of the textures never loaded, and the game couldn't handle any lighting effect...

Cities Skyline 2 is fine.

The fact the Devs said that 30 FPS in 2023 is optimal is a joke. With my PC I should expect north of 100 FPS, its ridiculous why these companies can't optimize anything. It's really unprofessional and shows how little skill they really have.

SC 2013 was a disaster compared to this... the online multiplayer component (one of its biggest selling points) was terrible.

Could run the game at over 60 FPS thats for damn sure. CS2 is just lazy. They cut content, they reduced graphics, functions, immersion, this so called better AI is a joke. Everything was a lie.

You couldn't even log in to play Simcity 2013 for nearly a week because of how badly its launch was handled. And when you did manage to log in there was insane lag until they eventually resolved it because of the insistence that it be Online all the time.

So no, Simcity 2013 launch was still leagues worse.

I literally just tweeted that CS2 is having a Simcity 2013 moment but you have a point about Simcity at least being able to run....I couldn't even get past the tutorial with a Dell XPS 17 9720 RTX 3060 32 GB laptop

I have to say that they didn't actually lie... I was looking at all of the youtube videos on this new games from several months ago and the first thing I said was "the graphics looks just as bad as CS1.. Plus the vehicles were driving extra slow and citizens looked like 120yr old Cims as slow as they walked around....So, they were very open about this crap....I still have faith they will get it right or some other company is going to do them like they did Maxis and EA sports

This is pretty horrid, but no, its not as bad as Simcity at launch. That was so bad that most people couldn't even load themselves in and try to play it. Here, you can play it... Its just so slow that its not worth playing.
