Low density housing?
Is that very first housing option the only thing that counts as low density housing? I have a huge demand for it, to the point is eating up all the damn map space. I've tried building some of the other ones, even the low rent buildings, doesn't seem to curb it. If my population gets smarter or richer will they stop wanting this low density housing?

My suggestion is to not listen to the demands if its driving you bonkers. I suspect its yet more buggy or not quite working stuff. I dont mind the low density housing but Im not going to fill 75% of the city with it if the demand bar just sits on full. They'll get other housing and LIKE IT !!

The demand indicators are working great, they're extremely responsive too. For me they are currently complaining about dense housing, which I've yet to unlock annoyingly, but it's just gradual progression for beginners is all so don't pay too much attention to it.

You're also not running out of room, I have more map tokens than I know what to do with right now! Just buy more land haha

yeah i do have to say i love how quickly the demand meters react to changes in your city

They are working OK for me. Just turns out that most people don't want to live like rats in a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ low rent apartment if they are making enough money to live in a single family home.

I wasn't expecting it at all as games like this are usually really slow to respond. So far this game is fantastic <3

Im having issues, population of 35k, all they want is low density, so I went unlimited money, dropped the taxes on higher education levels and up it went, haven't tried increasing the taxes on low density, will do that next and see if that adds more to high density demand.
Alhevi Oct 25, 2023 @ 4:56am
yea, also mostly 90% demand for low destiny, so i just increasing the taxes

This game plays more like Cities in Motion; you need to educate your peeps in order for them to want higher tier jobs; which will upgrade that industry/commecrial/offices... That, in turn, will increase the demand for jobs, which increases the amount of density

You do not have to fullfil all demands. The RCI meter tells you what you can build not what you should build. I have a whole city of exclusively medium density.

I can’t seem to get them to go to college though personally. They all want to go to elementary and high school but after that we have a ton of eligible people and plenty of capacity but I can’t get them to actually go to college.

having the same issue. someone else mentioned they they even though you got a high population that could go to college doesnt mean they can afford it. maybe i'll try playing around with taxes and see if the colleges fill up.

Ah. I just made a thread about this. Yeah, the game has an insatiable thirst for low density residential but it doesn't seem to do anything when you give it more.
FoZ Oct 25, 2023 @ 5:26pm
hmm I have the opposite problem, I got 0 low density demand..
