Cities Skylines 2 Save File To Test Performance
Recently, GameStar, a German blog shared a save file with 100,000 inhabitants. Through this save file you can just test the performance if it suits you, you can continue if your system cannot support it or you feel like you are playing at 5fps you can simply refund the game. You can download the file from here https://www.gamestar.de/artikel/cities-skylines-2-savegame,3402618.html

After downloading, unzip the file to access the actual save file. Paste it to C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\Colossal Order\Cities Skylines II\Saves\STEAM_ID. If you can't find it let me go in detail:

Open Steam.

Click on "Steam" in the top-left corner.

Select "Settings."

In the left menu, click on "Downloads."

Choose "Steam Library Folders."

Copy the folder path for your main game installation location.

Navigate to the save file folder on your computer. Typically, this is located in:

C:\Users[Your Username]\AppData\LocalLow\Colossal Order\Cities Skylines II\Saves\STEAM_ID

Paste the downloaded .csl2 save file into this folder. The "STEAM_ID" part of the

Now Launch the game and load the save file.

I have created a proper blog post on it too.

This way you can try it out and test the fps on your system, if it's not for you, you can refund the game before the two hour period expires.

I managed to get 30 FPS at standard speed and 17 FPS at ultra speed on high settings with a few recommended settings disabled. I'm running the game in 4K.

EVGA 3080 XC3 Ultra
Core i7 6800K
48GB DDR4
2TB SSD
Windows 10 Pro

Edit: I also get around 50 FPS on high 4K with around 500ish citizens.

It's not horrible, but it's still really bad in general. I've got no idea why it actually functions on my computer as well as it does, lol.

Does this save come with it´s own settings? It seems to me this way, because there where some settings different then I set. The Game ran on ~50 FPS but I turned the dynamic resolution off and TAA on. Now I get 60 FPS, which are capped Systemwise - 4070 TI OC, Core I7 13700K, 32 GB DDR5. With these Settings I can zoom in and out and scroll around and my GPU doesn´t go beyond 90% Usage.
