All I want is a really huge population
It's weird to build metro for a 200k, 400k or even 800k population. That's not realistic.

I want to build really big cities, like 8+ million. I know that won't happen, but give us at least 2 million. :steamsad:

With mods, you can potentially reach 4 Millions in Cities Skylines 1.
*But the limit about the variable in game + lags wont make this number reachable.*
The average number of citizens you can have in a single square are around 50 000. (Without mods btw)
The whole problem is the LAGS.
That we gonna probably have in Cities Skyline 2 too :steamsalty:

Let it rip! Use RICO to drop in 10 Solipsist buildings and allow 200k citizens in each building. Then start building some large office buildings for them to work in. Or 144 buildings with 14k citizens each. Either way less than one CS1 tile.

4 million? Could you maybe prove that?

You probably need a pretty powerful computer to run the simulation with 2 million cims.

Your Americanism is showing but yeah, building a Metro for a population 5 THOUSAND? Thats actually completley insane

We build a city center metro for about half a million people..
I'm sorry to say, but it's not weird.

They did, however, really make it easy to move around town to the point in which most people don't use their cars anymore to go from one part of the city to the other, but rather just take the metro, 'cos it's faster and it's cheaper.

No need to prove or disprove. It's just not possible.

Everyone here knows that the building limits drove the change from the beginng.

No mod will deliver more than 1048 and I have more than a dozen cities at that very limit and at least one
At every limit concurrently.

So Lausanne, Rennes and San Juan are not realistic cities?

Are you going to tell me that the 50+ million annual ridership of this system only comes from these low populated cities or from the 1+ million people who live in the metropolitan area and use the system?

Where?

You guys are using metropolitan areas as examples, considering only the main city population... but forgetting the whole area uses the metro.

Copenhagen has 600k population and has metro, but it's a metropolitan area of 1.4 million people that are all users of the metro system.

Nor is Coquitlam British Columbia with even less population, if you apply that logic, yet is overloaded at peak times. Again, a smaller city part of a larger region.

@Pizzeria21 As OLDYBUTCRAFTY wrote. Because of the -LIMITATION- of the game. We cannot reach the number I wrote. But if the game doesn't add this issues (including the lags I wrote that you clearly dont saw with your own eyes before wrote your comment).
We CAN reach 50 000 citizen PER SQUARE. And I have solid proof of that with cities I had been working on in the past.
If you are kinda good with math.
We can calculated that if you play vanilla.
Your objective should be around 450 000 citizens.

If you add mods, 81 tiles will be able to get that 4 Millions.
BUT
Lags + Variable limit wont give you any possibilities to get it.

Step 1: Choose North American theme.

Step 2: Download all the fast-food asset mods you can find

Step 3: Don't build any parks and make city unwalkable

Step 4: Zone lots of low-density commercial for all those fast-food joints

You will now have a huge population.

To be serious though, I'd also be interested in buildings and workplaces having realistic populations and workforces respectively. Even if it's just an artificially inflated number that also contributes to the total city-wide population. A large office block with only 16 employees just looks dumb. A typical McDonald's has way more workers.
