Random generated maps ?
I was kind of hopping they have option to randomly created maps that are not based on real world location but just generated we can build city on, instead of only have static map options.

static map opens can be nice but after x number of years building city on same maps even if you workshop down new ones still gets little old after while.

be nice if they had randomly generated landscape.

special sense people making programs like height-map sky that can bring in real world locations to cities sky lines I am sure that get updated for skylines 2 so I am sure real world location be covered with that program in future.

Bro what are you talking about.

Are you talking about custom map designs? Modders can definitely upload certain countries landscape features.

I have no idea what you're referring to, is this in the first game? I don't recall random generated maps, though I haven't played in years. Went back to it, game was corrupted, gave up.

It is an interesting idea though but yes I'm hoping the modders will create plenty of real world maps

Do you mean like the maps in Civ VI or Banished? When you start a game, it gives you a random map. If you don't like it, you start the game again. I believe that they have specifically decided to not do that. I'm hoping for Workshop maps created by some of the best map makers.

For me real world maps are what I am hoping for from the modders

well for skylines 1 you don't need modders for that
there program out there that can create map for game based on any location you want in real life for example i used it to bring in location for my home town.

my understanding it is going get updated to skylines 2 so real life is covered would been nice to also had option for randomly created procedural generated maps also.

other whys skylines 2 is not really bring anything new to that aspect of game.

As I've said in another thread, I also hope there will be a map generator, but there are plenty of other ways to generate maps without one in-game, as long as the game allows importing heightmaps.

If they don't, you could look into programs like Vterrain or Blender to generate random heightmaps and manipulate them. Not sure how well ML algorithms do heightmaps.

Transport Fever 2 has pretty good terrain generation and you can export heightmaps from that generator!!

But CSL1 also has a terrain generator mod: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=497439640
Though I think TpF2 has better map generation.

espero que tomen en cuenta la generacion de mapas aleatorios con pre facts de puntos de agua y montañas, para no jugar todo el tiempo en el mismo mapa

Unity3d has a procedural generation system programmed into it by design. I know this because Rust is on Unity3d and has a procedural geration algorithm. So I think it would be cool if Colossal Order unlocked that algorithm.
