High-Speed Rail
I'm wondering if there will be different rails for different speeds and if you can level up/upgrade older rail to match newer trains? Srry if question has already been awnsered somewhere.

That's an interesting question - I've seen nothing in that regard, but I have not seen every rail video around. :csgoct:

There are over head Railway track, i believe, or am i confusing that with trams?!

Also very unsure about speed limits on said track aswell.

Havent seen any options for different trains. they just pop out of the depot and do their thing.

I did find a video where the youtuber, used Track sidings for trains to slip into with incoming traffic, and trains will stop and wait for another train to pass before doing their thing.
there is a bit of logic going on, but im not sure how extensive.

I also noticed that trains dont Flip around, when they stop and travel backwards, which i really like. In other games, the locomotive would flip from the front too the back, and become the front of the train.

I would love to make alot of sidings where trains will simply Rest and be stored, when not in use. I know the depot has them, but i dont know if their functional, or aesthetic.

would be super cool, if they did.

From what I understabd, old-upgraded rail vs new purpose built rail is different in speeds too. Would be great if that would be a late game consideration too. Do I rip up the old rail line or settle for e slower high-speed rail.

Yes agree - I would love heritage lines too. Bring back steam!

This is Cities Skylines: II, not Transport Fever 2.

But it is a nice idea and we are all hoping CS2 will evolve to have that extra sparkle

Well, usually in late game CS1 I tend to run into capacity problems or other such things as there's lots of people moving around and me enticing them to use public transport (in order to keep roads from clogging up). If you could upgrade your train-lines speed, you could in theory add capacity, especially on longer journeys, and so forth. I think this is relevant to CS2. :)

I'm still waiting for the map editor to release before I play the game. How is this topic implemented, are there any difference in speed of rail, such as separate high-speed rail or similar?
