For your system, I would wait until the game is released and see what people say.
With your CPU socket, you could make a good upgrade easily, so just sit tight for now.
PS: What is the model of your motherboard?
Easy peasy. This game will start off very basic. I have an i5-13400 and it is the same, except the 13400 is 100MHz faster is all, but I have 64GB RAM.
However, as the game expands DLC and city sizes, it is hard to say how well it'll hold up.
Definitely a 12600K or 13600K would be better. It would put you past consoles 8-pCores. so it would definitely outperform a console.
I'm hoping the devs coded the game to use the 16-pCores of the AMD 5950 (7950) and intel 12900k (13900K) CPUs.
Alienware Area 51m r2
i7
64GB ram
Nvida 2070 super with 8GB VRAM
So going to wait and see
But that thing has to weigh as much as a standard desktop computer. LOL
It's huge! The power brick alone has to weigh as much as my 13-inch 2-n-1 laptop. LOL
But is should easily handle minimum requirements and likely exceed recommended.
LOL yeah it weighs a ton and has "2" power bricks ;)
I'm retired and very mobile which is why I sucked it up and got a gaming laptop. To be honest the older Area 51m r2 IMO is better than most if not all gaming laptops available. Basically it's a desktop computer crammed into laptop form.
Yes, that is what's called a desktop replacement. It's basically a desktop in a laptop case, but designed to be stationary on your desktop. Mobility isn't much of an option. batter drains in minutes and large suitcases aren't mobile friendly either. LOL
I have one too, but Lenovo. But it is stationary as well. It frees up desktop space for work nicely and less wires everywhere.

I hope I can be of help.

Just type Cities and then select Cities Skylines II. If you type Cities skylines won't find.
For this game, I'd recommend the RX 6800 XT 16GB over the 2080 Ti 11GB. I'm sure the extra vram will be more beneficial for this game in the long run, than extra FPS/Ray-Tracing.
The 3060 comes in two flavor. The release day 3060 8GB, and the newer 3060 12GB. So look for the 12GB model if nothing else.
There are also older AMD 16GB GPUs, Starting with Vega 64, and 6800 XT, and the newer RX 7800 XT. and 7800 GRE. Plus the 7900 XT and XTX series has 20GB and 24GB respectively. Oh yeah, don't forget about the Intel A770 16GB too. It is well priced last I looked. especially with rumored B770 GPU launch this fall (early 2024)
But anything less than 16GB could be problematic in the long run. so get as big as you can afford, or wait until new.
I imagine the base game will only need minimum requirements, but after a few DLCs, recommended will likely be minimum requirements for hard core city builders with tons of workshop.
You probably can but why would you want to?
