It doesn't matter if it's never been for sale BEFORE, it matters what the normal price of the product is. If the regular price after release is going to be 116, then it's legal. If the regular price after release is going to be 89.99 and they're just showing 116 to falsely claim a discount, then it's illegal.
I suppose my question is, if they waited until release day and then jacked the price up 26.01 without notice while displaying the price as 89.99 with no shown discount, would you pitch a conniption fit over it? You know, because they wouldn't want to give you the CORRECT impression that the price right now is less than the release price?
Or maybe I'm just old fashioned, since I never ever purchased anything in pre-order.
Regardless, thank you all for the information, I wasn't fully understanding this.
Thank you for clearing that out. The only thing that bothers me now is the fact I'm not interested in the radio stations and I'm not sure whether the total price without them would be cheaper than 89.99 or not,
I'm sure they work very hard to produce this content, but I would have preferred to pay $10-20 more for the main game and have all the content included, rather than pull stuff out of the main game and sell it as DLC in the future.
Greenmangaming already have 12% off, grab it
