Steam Key purchased through an online store (pre-order)
Hi, if I buy Cities Skylines 2 through an online store such as "Kinguin", will I receive a pre-order bonus? (I will get the steam key on the day of the game relese)

Kinguin isn't considered a legitimate retailer for keys, so you won't get any support.

In theory it should, as i imagine it all being linked to the key, but i wouldn't risk it.

I used to buy from there and the other page they own/owned...but yeah, once they started selling stolen keys I stopped buying from them.

I do buy from Eneba (very rarely) and Instantgaming (slightly less rarely) but I tend to buy most from Steam itself (unless we count Humble Choice =)

I preordered Games at cdkeys.com. Never Had any Problems and Game was unlocked at Release day

I don't have any problems with it, but I am worried that I don't get pre-order bonus

You should do, CD keys will give you the preorder bonus along with the game key on the day it releases

Devs would rather have their game pirated than sold on gray markets. That is how bad key resellers are.

You can always use authorized resellers though like green man gaming, fanatical, humble bundle etc. They usually have decent deals that are better than anything you could find on Steam.

Yeah, I am always wary of these unknown key reseller sites, that supposedly give you great deals. You never know how or where they got the keys.
That and if anything goes wrong you could end up losing a lot. That is why I only ever trust Steam, GOG, or MS PC Game Pass.
