Someone will build up the entire map full of stuff, at some point after the game release, to show on Utube how the game performs.
If buying DLC means the game will be supported for a decade then I'll buy it. I'm not sure if the price of the game is reflective of whats necessary to simply support the game or is a cash grab, the cynic in me says they're probably milking me. It is what it is, but for me a good city-builder is my bread and butter so I'm looking forward to playing the game for countless hours and welcome any additional content. For SC:I I bought some of the DLC up-front and bought some of it on-sale, I ignored all the radio stations as I was more interested in gameplay.
Five years is a long time to wait to play a game and it IS a game, not a mortgage or auto loan. Instant Gaming is offering 25% off standard and 29% off ultimate if you're looking for a better deal.
I am very sorry to hear you feel duped because Colossal twisted your arm forcing you to buy all the S:C DLC's.
Like they are now forcing you to buy the Ultimate edition of S:C2 for $122
FWIW There are only 11 DLC's which would (arbitrarily) be a "must buy"
Ranging from 7,99 to 15,99
You might be slighty exaggerating a just a tiny weeny little bit with your statement of "HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS"...
Radio's ---> You don't need these (There... saved you THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS)
Content Creator packs ---> You don't NEED these either (they are there to show your appreciation for community content creators. NO ONE IS FORCING YOU TO BUY THESE)
(Saved you another COUPLE OF MILLION DOLLARS)
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
