With this data I am sure a mod will come with automatic cracked roads and potholes when you have that data built in.
Yes, and I am mentioning the solution.
but they did not mean the whole road will slowly decay, that is what OP Means and he/she is right that there is no decay for roads, and yes just like CS1, mods will have different realistic looking roads :)
This is not a solution at all. You can't expect a game come out, release just to look inferior and depend on modding to make it look good.
Thats plain honesty, the game in all of their dev diaries looks plain boring and lackluster without any texture and details at all and I highly suspect that it will not change until the release because:
A. Its only a couple of month away and in terms of gamedevelopment this is just bugfixing. B. If they were able to show how the game looks properly, they already would have. Doesnt matter if this is from an earlier build or not because you always have to calculate and develop with final materials in mind - so as soon as possible.
C. Those Dev diaries is their marketing. You would put every opportunity into the marketing, make the game looks as good as possible for the marketing. So if they did, then this is what the game looks like.
What you see is what you get and currently the game looks awfully plain. There is still a slight chance that it will not be the case but I would not even put a dollar into that until I know for sure.
Maybe City Skylines 3 can be the true simulation of all things should be planned mounths before because an Airport or other construction site doesnt just pops up, just saying this because this devs are really in pursue of a realistic simultaion and for sure it gowing better on CS 2
Yes I can, and I just did. I expect to see thousands of mods and assets for CS2. That is what makes it good. Sure, a few cities is fun to build Vanilla, But be real, it is the mods that makes the game playable for years.
