Will this game score big on console?
So, finally a step up for console players. Congratulations with this game, congratulations paradox on figuring out how to integrate it in the game engine. Now they can make beautiful intersections just like a pc player has been doing for the last 8 years. The trailer it shows nothing about increasing limits, extra settings or more in game depth, but mostly just some integrated mods. Did not see a bike or a bike line, and that made me worry. They need to be included in the testing imho. In cs1, because of object limits this crippled detailed urban planning when hitting that limit. If you wanted a 100% functioning bike infrastructure, you couldn't go all the way so to say.

Now the mod community must switch to a new game. The question is, will they? And more important, do they need to? Because this game looks like it aims at console players, I am guessing they have made up their minds and focusing on the core of the game instead of the mods. Milking dlc money all the way to the bank, some would say. But is that true? Will we see a battle to the death of the pc community while console players are having a field day? Will they milk the community to death with dlc? Questions, questions..

Console players could be the one ending up saving the franchise. There are a lot of them, and if they love this game they help carry the load. The more. The marreir. Just keep wondering if they will be so in the focus of the developers that Paradox will have to sacrifice ingame mechanics en ingame depth of simulation to tailor the console user. The pc users demands a level of complexity that dazzles the console users minds! This is the silver lining. Have they made a good pc worthy game? I don't feel it yet. Will they cash big-time on console? You bet.

By looking at cs2, I now realize I was not waiting for cs2. I was waiting for a new Cities X. X meaning, a whole new level of complexity and detail. Give me a city i can work on for a decade. This looks like a console version of cs1 to me, and although I am happy for all who get to taste the freedom of a good city builder on a console which will be a first, and I do want to emphasize they should go have a great time, it does feel like I am eating a donut here and I am finding out halfway that it fell on the floor earlier. You know. It is still sweet, but you can kinda taste the dirt too

Developers used to make games for pc then modulate them to fit on a console. Nowadays they design to work on both, which is ok of course. If they however fail to provide the extra ingame mechanics a pc can offer, they will lose the pc users interest. I already see very disturbing signs this is the case. They will fail to make the dlc milking stick, tanking like simcity 5. Console gamers are not that loyal.

I too understand this decision. The base game probably has lots of buyers on console. The real problem comes after the initial launch. If you have 441 tiles but the map are smaller than the 81 tiles from cs1, for example. I expect to see unity engine 5. If they have not succeeded in increasing building and vehicle limits they have failed the game. In my mind, I just don't see console players buying 10 dlc's. City building on console is a gimmick.

I read here a story about Mika Hakinen (can't remember the real name) and he is stating the gaming experience will be exactly the same on console. If this means they've clipped the wings of this game to make it it fit on console, they'll lose the pc community all together. Especially because it is a part2 of the series. People really really don't want to be milked for dlc that bad again. They expect a few gifts. Some sugar. If they are denied this sweet, and there is no sweet to be expected later on, this game will go down in flames, regardless of how many wannabee city builders will buy the base game for console.

This game feels like the console version of cs1. It must win over the pc gamer. So far, it just doesn't. Really doesn't. Haven't seen 1 thing that pushes boundaries. Not one. Yet. Want to see that happen though. I love this game. Don't want to see this fail because of poor management like sc13.

I've watched idiots play this on console, theres no way this plays as good. They just lack the accuracy when drawing roads and placing buildings.

Now now. Console gamers are more social and the games offer more sports orientation. They are more muscle then brains but that doesn't make them idiots. From my pov, it is very cool they now too have a decent city building game. Some nice things can come from it, maybe a keyboard and a mouse and you can have your pc experience on console for a price pc gamers can only dream of.

The real idiots are the developers. Have you heard the voice over in the trailer? "Now you can place roundabouts!" Been doing that for almost a decade now. "Now you can place on and off ramps!" The same applies. The smell of a reskin aimed at consoles is very pertinent. If this turns out nothing more then cs1:console they will flop. Killing the franchise. To be honest, I already see this happening. I hope I am wrong.

You are much too negative. From what I have seen so far, this game will turn out to be great

I admire your positivity and you're correct I am very, very negative about this game. I am that way as a person. I am right a lot too. This is what made me so negative to begin with. Your positivity will not make this game a success. In fact, your disregard of the obvious red flags is a common denomination for people who think positive. You have to, right? If you got the entire picture you would not be positive, it is that simple. And I understand and respect that. Disregarding me as being negative without listening to my remarks is a very unwise decision though. You can try it. Watch the game sell big at launch only to see this franchise crash and burn a year later. You don't want that to happen right?

If the red flag is right in front of you and you choose to look away, that's not my fault. If you see no red flag at all, once again, that's not on me. You can look away all you want. Go ahead, we need people like you carrying cs:console otherwise knows as cs2 so there is still a developer left when it's time for the real thing

Sure. Well. Good luck with your cs:console and don't forget to bring your own marshmallows for the bonfire
