Hello.

Malls are the jewel of any big city. Please make beautiful, indoor malls easy, streamlined, and fun to build in CS2. Have a look:

They should add malls, and influencers like Jake Paul who can raid and encourage people to loot in your mall.

Are malls still a thing? I can't tell you the last time I went to a shopping mall in real life. Most of them are closed or have changed to those outdoor town centers in my area. And even those barely exist anymore.

malls are poison to a healthy city. The depend and cause car dependency. By all means, they should be part of the game. Some people play to make their cims suffer. But if you want a healthy city, you should avoid them.
Same thing with mega stores like Target and Walmart. They are heavily car dependent. They should be part of the game, but I would avoid them.
I will be screeching loud and persistently for bike paths in the game. They reduce pollution and traffic tremendously. You can have smaller roads and smaller expense.

Your link doesn't work. I would be interested if you could make it work.
I don't know which of my assertions he modded. That malls are poison, or the big box stores are poison. Either one has huge parking lots and lots and lots of cars and no one walking anywhere.
I think the game has more pedestrians than happen in real life.

While yes malls are a dying breed of commercial life in lots of cities they are still quite a big thing here in Australia. On the Gold Coast we have a number of large popular shopping malls. Actually 2 are huge. Also smaller shopping centres with a number of small retail outlets and one or two large grocery stores are all over the place and tend to have varying degrees of abandoned shops in them. Though even if they are mostly abandoned they’re usually kept alive by the grocery stores and say the odd butcher, hairdresser, news agency etc. Also city centres having traditional malls/valleys for retail shopping is still a big thing here.

I myself don’t use them other then when I need a pair of jeans or want to go see a movie (since the bigger ones always have cinemas) and I agree there are reasons they are not good for many different reasons they still are a massive part of city life in this country and not having malls for me always stood out when building my cities.

OP, did you see the latest post on the Paradox website about commercial signature buildings? Seems like there are malls now. Looks like one in the picture they provided. Although I hope we can mod the signage and billboards around it to have different advertising on some to give it a more natural look would be good. Would be awesome if they added drive through fast food joints into the game one day too and they could add a couple into the outer parts of the mall car parks like malls always have.

I haven't been to a real mall in ages. Amazon and other websites pretty much take care of all my needs., It would be okay to have them in game, just to help fill in the massive regional space we will have.

Hypermalls are confirmed to be in the game through unique buildings, and yes malls are still relevant in most of the world so it just makes they would include them:hardhat:

If we get big car park malls, can we also get railway station shopping centres?

I don't care about your dying malls, people.

As I said in the origin, Malls are the jewel of any big city. Any big city. The Dubai Mall, Mall of America, etc. These are the types of malls that I want to build in my virtual video game sessions. Not your dying malls with grocery stores and fast food joints.

CSII devs, take note.

I live in Dubai and we have the biggest mall on the planet. It gets so busy on weekends and holidays you can barely walk.

I guess dying malls are a North American thing.

Ah! Greetings, Dubai dweller!

Americans are too fat and too lazy and too addicted to their phones and their vapes to do anything useful these days.
