Glad I'm not alone noticing this.
I highly doubt and don't hope the game looks anything like the trailer. The trailer looks too artificial. bland and sterile and lacks any style. It could've very well been a trailer for Random Simulator: Next Year.
Whilst SC4's trailer was limited by the technology at the time and doesn't look like the game either (I think the final product looks better). It at least looks consistent and believable within its artstyle.
Both trailers do a good job representing driving game concepts, however SC4's is more thought through and good-humoured in its presentation.
CSL2's unfortunately lacks any humour and doubles down on mindless corporate drivel.
Haha, yeah. It's almost like devs knew their consumers had the wit to tell apart marketing material from actual gameplay. To be fair, Ubisoft ruined this for all of us thoroughly. :D
So is the SC4 trailer we are discussing.
I think by now, we are fully aware of this circumstance. :)
makes one wonder how much actual game they've got done so far
Neither are supposed to represent how the game plays, but communicate game concepts and the general vision to the audience in an artistic manner.
I think they work on it since after Sunset Harbour DLC (2020) and Mariina said she had to wait years to finally speak about it... makes sence there was big gap between SH and Airports and most of the content was done by modders as DLC Packs...
Though that give us a little idea of what's to exepect for Cities Skylines II, I think.

Hopefully at least this time they put disasters in the core game and make them fun.
