No saints row 1 for PC?

Was saints row 1 not released on PC? I have been looking all over and it appears that it didn't come out, I'm guessing it was an xbox exclusive when it first came out and that is why.

For those curious about the story of the original Saint's Row who never got to play it, you can easily find the game's cutscenes on Youtube. Just type in something like "Saint's Row: The Movie" or some such. It's a bit more serious in tone than it's sequels!

They won't remake 1 or 2 on the new engine UNLESS they tone down the customization to the new style. Remember that in SR1 & SR2, the customization is huge, but a lot more static with layers of clothes.

With the newer engine used in SR3 and so on, they made the customization system into something totally new (from scratch) and the old part weren't compatible anymore... so they had to redo all the clothes parts from scratches (and so the amount of clothes dropped a LOT) and so on.

To release a remake of 1 & 2 in the new engine, they would have to redo all the models, textures and skinning of all the models in the first and 2nd game... one huge hell both financially (for what they would gain out of it) and technically.

That is just rubbish. They can remake it if they want, but it is just lazy business. Pc port of SR2 was also just a lazy port. Titan Quest got remade as welll, but then no hd remake, but more fixing stuff and such. Granted, TQ was a pc game and not a port, but still. Skyrim got updated to newer graphics with the special edition. And lately some jrpg's made their way to the pc while first being on console only. Bayonetta has got a pc version recently, while it was console only and even Tekken is coming to the pc. It's just a matter of the willingness of the dev and the publisher.
You are right however that there will never be a port to the pc, same goes for the 3 dlc's of saints row 2 (ultor exposed, corporate warfare, unkut pack). Because it's Deep Silver who goes now about Saints Row and they don't care about older titles.

Volition/Deep Silver have stated they won't be remaking/remastering Saints Row 1, guys, they know it wasn't a great game so it would be a waste of money and not worth the resources.

Can't fans find CDs of the Xbox version and work with it to create a fan-made PC port? Something similar was done with the Mother/Earthbound games.

I found that they gave the exact same answer (minus the actual confirmation) in a reddit AMA (and this link I found is yet another reddit AMA!), seems like they copy-paste a pre-written script for questions people ask a lot.
