Before you say more about 3 hours. I have straightforward proof I had 0 impostor over 37 games straight. Just deal with it. Your time will come.
Tbh I envy that in a way. I have less than 10% impostor at my point. I would really prefer it to stay around 30%...
Games like this, Dead By Daylight, Infection modes, they're only fun if you get to play *both sides* of the weighted game.
If you only ever get to play a certain side, then what's the point in playing a game that's entirely balanced around there being 2 sides? I'm not getting to play both sides of the game, despite buying a game featuring 2 sides to play.
"Chance" can be fixed, and quite often has been, where people like Apple had to weight "shuffle" because people complained it would play songs that were right next to each other too often. Most "random" chances aren't random anymore, and this game highlights the terrific reason why.
The impostor is, for most people, the fun part of the game. It's not that you hate or don't enjoy playing as a crewmate, but we're all waiting for that sweet sweet impostor game where you connive and backstab.
And if you never get it, you gradually grow more and more tired of seeing "Crewmate" pop up every single time.
"Random" is very often weighted nowadays, and this game should do the same. Not IMPOSSIBLE for someone to get it twice, maybe 3 times in a row, but nobody should be left stranded in limbo for 3 hours hoping to get to finally play the fun part of the game.
Also, it's your job to define the fun aspects of the role. Crewmate is not just about doing tasks. You actually have so much time to meme around especially when you're playing in a group. Pretending to be the impostor and creeping out your friends. Infinitely dancing at the emergency button.
You can make that opportunity to learn. How to win trust, how to make yourself not seen without vents. How to keep a safe distance. How to be suspicious.
Am I tired of seeing Crewmate on my screen? Sure am, considering how across the course of 79 games I've only been impostor 7 times. Which, ironically, is still statistically sound and normal.
In conclusion. Just get into a discord or get with friends. Playing along severely reduces so much fun out of this game.
The impostor RNG is one of them.
Showing disconnected folks as dead at the round table is another.
And I don't see much of a point forcing us to guess who the impostor was after the crewmembers have won, just show us the impostors were. What's this "victory" screen where you have to proceed by elimination and remember who's NOT on that screen to know who the impostors were.
The time limit to fix the O² is also ridiculously short.
Easy win for the impostor if there's 3 players left.
That's just a whole negative viewpoint as it's showing the glorious moment as a moment to give shame to the Imposters of that round.
That's the whole point of the sabotage. Do you not know or realize the fact that saboing is a legit victory strategy for the Impostors? If you don't like it, get the Impostor before you go down to that low level. If you can't, deal with it.
I haven't played it alone once, yet it's still pretty not fun.
And playing around by pretending to be the impostor just ruins the game for everyone else who are taking it more seriously.
Being imposter is random, in a group of 10 in a 1 imposter match you have a 1/10 chance, that means way more often than not, you're not gonna be imposter, if you only play for an hour don't be surprised if you never get it.
DBD gives you the option to choose because you need to have a tactic and you need to have skill to win while in Among Us, Deceit, F13 you need to make your tactic after the match started and it doesn't require that much skill.
Why does everyone wants to play as the bad guy in Among Us, Deceit and other games because it's easier and you have a higher chance to win.
No, because it's more fun. Even if it's harder to win, it's more interactive than run around and do chores, because you're trying to find the perfect kill, or the perfect time to sabotage, there's more to engage with. Crewmates engagement kicks in harder once a body has been found and a meetings been called, while Impostor's is strong from the get-go.
WHY people play Impostor isn't the point of this post though, the point is: The current impostor choosing system is broken, evidenced by both my anecdotal experience, and the other people saying the same thing.
Either weight it, add a queue system, whatever, but as it stands, I'm not interested in opening the game, even playing with my friends, if I'm never gonna get to play the Impostor side. That's a problem, considering I spent money on it.
