Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance

Can I run this on my intel HD 3000 integrated chipset?
So I own and play the original Supreme Commader just fine on my laptop and was wondering if this expansion works much like the HOTS expansion in that there are new units and such but the overall game is not more intensive than WOL can I still play it. Or did the developers do a major intensive overhaul that would render this game completely unplayable. If I lowere the graphics to ultra low would I be able to play it. Thanks to whoever takes the time to respond to this query.

i think the system requirements for FA are only marginal higher
the engine is the same so FA shouldnt consume more CPU power

Not particularly worried about cpu its the gpu or lack thereof. The chipset runs SupCom 1 just fine and I was wondering if I can play that just fine on a gpu chipset with 1.7 gigs shared RAM with forged alliance being much like the WoL to HoTS sort of expansion deal.

I play the game fine on intel HD3000 graphics. Noticeable slowdown can occur, but only when theres lots of units. Even then, theres plenty of ways to adjust the graphics so that your fps gets boosted to something reasonable.

I don't play FA for the graphics though, I'm just as contented by dot wars.

Yeah I'm content with the game as long as I can play it and thanks for the help in confirming whether or not the intel HD3000 can run this game. Gonna pick it up straight away.

The two biggest things that you can do to massively increase fps is to turn off anti-aliasing and range rings, especially the range rings with lots of units. Even when they overlap, the game is still calculating the position of every single one.

Yes your set up will run FA with room to spare.
