Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance startet nicht

Hallo, nachdem ich nun erfahren habe, das ich Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance ohne die Grundversion spielen kann, startet das Spiel nicht. Was kann ich tun?
Bitte um ein paar Tipps.

Habe das Spiel auch als Admi gestartet und alle Tipps und Tricks, die ich aus anderen Foren habe, ausprobiert. Aber, ausser Spesen scheinbar nichts gewesen! Das ist doch ein Witz, das hier jeder zweite User Probleme mit dem Spiel hat und es einfach nicht starten kann. Kümmern tut das die Macher des Speles scheinbar auch überhaupt nicht! Ich werde hier jedenfalls nichts mehr kaufen!

If you check how many can play with no issues, versus those who can't, you will find that those who can't are seriously outnumbered. What happens is those who have no issues do not generally take part in discussions, so you won't see many - 'the game worked for me first time' discussions. The reality for most games is about 1% of people have issues. Add to that the fact that this game is A) Ancient B) no longer supported by anyone, and it is a surprise that the game works so well to this day - and for so many. As you found, a little tweaking and you can get it to run - FIRE367 - I would like to know his solution, so I can add it to the guide for people with issues.

Es kann nicht sein, das man das Spiel nicht direkt, nach dem Download, starten kann! Man muss die "bin" datei völlig ändern! Das kann doch nicht sein!
Was ich nicht verstehe, abkassieren tut man hier noch fleißig, aber die Probleme wurden bis heute nicht behoben!
Ziel muss es doch sein, das Spiel, direkt nach dem Download, starten zu können!
Und das ist bist zum heutigen Tage "Fehlanzeige"!
Da gibt es auch nichts "Schön zu Reden"!

well it works for me, and everyone I know. Those who it didn't work for I have tried to help - some successfully. Without the .exe i might add. The reason you sometimes need to change the prefs file is simply because some modern monitors no longer support what was a standard mode 7 years ago. Most of the other issues are down to drivers. It worked first time for me - and has ever since.

I presume you got it working? I presume you went down the new exe route? I don't recommend that myself, but for some it seems to work. The admin issue is a problem caused by the change in policies beyond winxp, which the game was designed for. There are many games available that are old and require tweaks from time to time to get them to work on newer systems for reasons similar to this. Act of war is another one which is great - but was never designed to handle more than 4 gig of ram. At the time 4 gig was not supported and was very expensive. You can't blame the game designers for not knowing how the future will turn out.

What I wanted to do was add your solution to the guide to help others, but alas that does not seem to be the way people want to be.
