How the do you upgrade your tech ??!!

I am so frustrated and angry, I bought this game after seeing it's positive reviews, and I saw nothing positive so far.
The game expects you to know everything, and the tutorial teaches you

and there is no beginner mode, or on screen help/tips or ANYTHING that even REMOTELY helps you to understand the game structure and hierarchy.
I am stuck at the very first campaign level, my "tech 1" units don't stand a chance next to the enemy units, and I can't seem to find the upgrade button on the land factory anywhere.
How da f**k do you upgrade your factory tech level ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Click on the factory and press the icon that looks like another factory. Make sure you have extra power and mass and ♥♥♥♥, because you'll need it.

The one with a Tutorial is Supreme Commander, Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance is a stand-alone expansion, so they assumed that you would know the game if you bought it.

Thanks everyone for commenting, I figured it out now.
Also the game is great, don't mind what I said above, I was raging like hell.

Forged Alliance was made expecting you to already know how the game is played. The first game SupCom had a slow to start campaign that was a great long tutorial really, in FA the campaign assumes you were already used to playing with late-game stuff and know what does what.

I never played the tutorials lol I hate them. I figured it out its pretty straight foward once you know what your doing
