Guide: Installing Sorian AI 2.1.2

For Steam version only. Sorian AI 2.1.1 is for original DVDs with nearly the same instructions.

1. Go to https://code.google.com/p/sorian-ai-mod/
2. Go to "Downloads" tab at the top.

3. Download "sorian_ai_pack_2.1.2.zip".

4a. Unzip and place SCD files into your installation, the default being C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\gamedata

4b. Custom installations can be accessed through right-clicking the game in library, Properties - Local Files - Browse Local Files.

5. It will work once you see "[Player] (LEM4.6) Is using: Sorian AI 2.1.2;" whenever you host or join a game, single or multiplayer.

EVERY PLAYER AND OBSERVER MUST HAVE THE AI FILES OR THE GAME WILL DESYNC AT START.

IMPORTANT - Reduces AI lag over time effect, especially in longer or 8 player games

Sorian AI is generally smarter, will use Tech 3 units more often

Focuses on building 1 experimental at a time over spamming unfinished builds

Will use TACs to maul experimentals

Capable of stealth TAC firebases for the offensive

ACUs will perform personal upgrades more often

You can request engineers from your allied AIs; specify which AI in chat box, type in "give me an engineer"

My game version in top-right corner says version "1.6.6" - so is the Sorian AI "2.1.2" compatible with it?

The Steam FA is version 1.6.6, and yes, you download Sorian AI 2.1.2 for it.

Retail DVDs of FA are at version 1.5.3599, and require the older Sorian AI 2.1.1 in order to work.

The differences between the 2 Sorian AI's are the lobby files, where one works with Steam, and the other does not.

Just going to point out that if someone has one of the old retail DVDs then they should try putting their cd key into steam and they might get a free steam verson of the game from that.

Every time I try to download it, it says the file isnt safe. Help?
