Anyone else dissapointed by Total Mayhem?
Since it supports Sorian AI I figured I'd give it a try.

The units are nice and the added buildings are awsome!

I can live with the missing descriptions and attributes, however what bothers me is that the AI prefers almost exclusively making those units.

I'd ask this in the GPG forums but since it's been down I'm not sure where to take my modding questions so here it goes;
How would I have to edit the mod to stop the AI from using or prioritizing the units from Total Mayhem?

I don't know but I am a bit dissapointed with the mod because of the insane amount of pd it adds and the lack of seraphim units it adds when compared to the other factions.

I'm not dissapointed with it, i like how it adds a lot more to the game, though i do agree that Sorian Ai do seem to like them over the Vanilla units, also i have no idea how to mod the AI, and i wouldn't if you ever want to play it with others, who knows what could happen? xD

Well personally I only play versus AI since I like to get tier 3 fights going and nice bases.
Online games tend to be over pretty quickly in my experience.

Black ops unit's and additions are by far my favorite.

+1 to that, i like to play with friends against Ai with Sorian Ai, Total Mayhem, and Blackops Advanced Command Units ( i think it is called ) as after about 20 mins, we all just upgrade our ACUs and 1v6 Experimentals.

Edit: To be honest though, i'm kinda bad at this game xD.

Yea I also got the ACU one, it actually makes the ACU useful and I often feel like it's me hero/leader, while in vanilla I'd find it pretty useless after tier1.

I am horid at pvp in this, but I can handle myself versus 1 cheating sorian AI 1v1.

My usual setup (since I play solo), is:
Me + 2 Sorian AI
vs
2x Sorian AI and 1 Sorian AIx

I usually put myself on the front and build a defensive base, send t1 engineers to the sorian bases to help them pump out the units, since AI macro is much better than mine lol.

Then when we are stable I'll help the offense.

Oh, there's 1 thing I seriously hate about this game, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ TMLs, Sorian AI and normal AI spam that ♥♥♥♥ on experimentals so much, it's terrible, there used to be a mod that allowed to you disable them but I can't find it.

Without TMLs the ground battles which I prefer would be so much more interesting.

I'm assuming by "TML" you mean tactical missiles launchers? If so, check the "Exclusions" part when setting up a match, where you select the mods and map your are going to use ect, i can't promise it will let you exclude TMLs but you could have a look. Also yes, i love playing defensive, as it is a very viable tactic through early game into late game.

It is versus AI yea :P

I indeed mean Tactical missile launchers, and yea I know about the exclusion thing, I usually disable air units and mass fabricators, sometimes sea units as well, but TMLs are not in there :(

I've turtled against real people before, it worked untill they got some Experimental arty online, then i was toast.

Hmm for that reason I installed the experimental supreme shields mod, sucks a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of energie but is amazing

Exactly my experience, usually against other players the game is decided in t1 and very early t2.

Maybe i was just lucky, like i said previously, i am bad, and since FAF matches you against people of the same skill level ( ussually ) they probably just didn't know how to beat a turtle before Arty :P

Anyways, I managed to edit the vanilla lua file and the unitrestrictions mod to include a unit restriction that disables all 5 tactical missle launchers (Also the T3 one from the Aeon).

Nice, have fun with your no tactical missile launchers game, meanwhile, i will be forever spamming them on the AI cause they don't know how to fight back against them :l

I know, they are so lame and they spam them so hard against experimentals or when I put up a shield generator close to their base, they'll literally send like 50 missles per second.
